America is more likely at risk from home grown terrorism than the countries banned from entry. Here the radicalisation happens in prisons where protection is offered to inmates who convert to Islam (very easy to do - only takes a couple of minutes). The terrorist atrocity here in 2005 was perpetrated by British born Muslims. I doubt whether Muslims from the designated countries in the Executive Order are likely to pose the same or more threats than home grown terrorists or those from other countries. You all need a vetting procedure rather than discount certain countries. Watch what is going on in your prisons with your Islamic inmates. You all also need to keep a close eye on the enemy within who means you harm, rather than keeping little old ladies and those of little threat out of the country.

I think that's what's going on. I don't believe the ban is permanent. Just until we can get a handle on what needs to be done. Including the vetting procedure.

As for jailhouse recruits, I don't know how large a problem that is in the US. Our jail problem is Latino in nature.
