Woman who falsely cried rape EIGHT times is spared jail

As long ago as 2002, she admitted in a statement to police that she was ' seeking attention' from them. But it was not until last year, after recording several hundred calls either from her or about her, that they took action.

She was given a one-year jail term suspended for two years at Plymouth Crown Court for perverting the course of justice. Judge Francis Gilbert said she must receive mental treatment.

Her latest offence was in May when she rang police to say she had been raped at her home. She stuck to her story in a video interview three days later despite being warned she would be prosecuted if it was another lie.

A 34-year-old man was interviewed by police and for the next five months Gregory regularly contacted officers to ask how the case was progressing.

Yesterday, the victim spoke of his ordeal.

'We were going out for five to six months. I ended the relationship with her, but she got back in touch with me a couple of months later.

'We met up at a pub and saw each other for about two or three nights after that. I stayed at her flat one of those nights and we had sex just the once.'

He continued: 'She then left a message on my phone saying come round tonight but I was doing other things.

'The next thing I knew the police rang me up and asked me to come to see them. I was not arrested but attended the police station voluntarily. It wasn't very nice to be accused of rape.

'The police told me they thought the accusation against me was a load of rubbish.

'But I didn't know about the previous incidents, I had heard rumours but nothing more than that.'

Nice case of letting someone off the hook for cause pian and anguish to individuals and authorities alike...

A Nigerian told me once "You got a nice country here-the only thing i dont like is that the women run everything...." i dont entirely agree but i see where he got the impression..

I know I'm going off-topic here, but that posts reminded me of something I read awhile ago...

An African delegate was on a tour of Oakland was shown the poorer sections of town...She said "Why are your poor people so fat?"...

the U.S. just might be the only country in which the poor can eat themselves to obesity...

more than likely because it's CHEAPER to eat fat-laden foods in this country than nutritious foods.

you can go to McDonald's and get two double cheeseburgers, fries and a coke for $4 - how far do you think $4 is gonna get you in a health food store? Maybe a banana.

Food that is bad for you is CHEAP - of COURSE poor people eat it.

As an example, I use coconut oil in my soapmaking. I found it costs a little over $3 for 32 oz of coconut oil at the SuperWalmart, but the healthfood store charges almost $17.00 for a 16 oz jar.

This is completely true. My kids are vegetarians and the only meat my husband will eat is fish so we buy very little meat but our food bills are incredibly high because we buy as much as we can "organic". It IS expensive to eat healthy. And part of eating healthy is "variety" and that too gets expensive. I can't believe how little some I know spend on groceries. Groceries is the one thing in life I refuse to skimp on. Fueling yourself with $hit can't be good for ya.

All three miss the point...

The African delegate was pointing out that the "poor" even HAS any money to buy food...cheap or not...

The reason for obesity is not because they are forced to buy cheap food...Before you can even get to that point you must have the ability to buy ANY food at all...

A salad that is actually good for ya is generally fairly expensive when compared to say a cheeseburger. Now if you're talking about iceberg lettuce with 1-2 pieces of barely ripe tomatoes and nothing else then that salad isn't "good for you." Soda is never good for you, diet or not.
