Uh, how do the police know sewage tastes bitter, because I don't think there are a lot of connoisseurs of the taste.

Well, not if you have ever eaten a durian. The odor ranges from rotten onions to rotten garbage, but the taste is great. It is a fruit about the size of a large melon, and oval in shape.
