The problem is a difference in ideology...
And I'm making generals statements here, so no nit-picking... ![]() Republicans feel that the private sector should be "hands off" and see this as a socialist move and governmental interference, so they want to make this as minimal as possible...(some not at all)... Democrats feel it's the government's DUTY to act as an umbrella to the private sector, so they want to maximize this opportunity to seize control...

Nooooooo-they each admitted they had almost had a plan agreed on. The rhetoric was more about whether Obama called McCain first and how important McCain was to the process.
I mean both sides were blatantly stumping for their respective candidate. It made me ill. I'll see if you tube has it in a couple of days ,and show you what I mean.

I don't believe there is any bickering as to whether the bail-out is necessary. It is the manner in which it is done that is being fought. Until McCain pre-emptively made his announcement, it was Congres (representing the people) vs. the Administration (representing banks and their lobbyists). Now there is bi-partisan bickering within Congress (each side representing their candidate). Sounds to me like injecting presidential campaign "fuel" into that equation was not a good idea. They should have just submitted their ideas in writing like Obama suggested, . |

This will be what it always is: the GOP furthering the agenda of socialism in the U.S. - socialism for the uber-wealthly only

If this "bail out" was going to help strapped U.S. citizens keep their homes, I'd be all for it.
But it's not. It's to ensure that the rich get richer...and don't have to take responsibility for their actions (all the while complaining that welfare mothers need to get a job and support themselves.)

I'm still looking for that video. It was a press conference either late lat night or early this morning. (I think there were two at least). The House Democrats spoke including Frank and others. Then the House Republicans spoke. If anyone can find it please post.
There has been so much information from every sector lately! Whew!
