Default Gen. Lovell's testimony on Benghazi

From FNC:

Quote:
A top military intelligence official at the time of the Benghazi attacks testified Thursday that U.S. personnel "should have tried" to help Americans under fire on Sept. 11, 2012, in an unprecedented public statement from a leading military officer.

Retired Brig. Gen. Robert Lovell, who at the time of the attacks was the deputy intelligence director at U.S. Africa Command, questioned the merits of the ongoing debate over whether U.S. military forces could have responded in time. Leading Pentagon and other military officials previously have argued that additional U.S. assets were not deployed to assist Americans under attack that night because they weren't close enough.

"The point is we should have tried," Lovell told the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, in his opening statement. "As another saying goes -- always move to the sound of the guns."

He later said the military "could have made a response of some sort." Lovell, who was stationed in Germany during the attack, made clear repeatedly that the military was waiting for clearance from the State Department to intervene in Benghazi.

Lovell also sharply countered claims that the intelligence community and military initially thought this was a protest over an anti-Islam video gone awry. He said U.S. officials knew this was a "hostile action" from the outset, even though they didn't know how long the attack would last. [Bold added]

Two points...

1) NO ONE knew how long the attack was going to be...For anyone to sit there and say "There wouldn't be enough time!!!!" either has a crystal ball or is a retard bent on doing more to defend this administration than Americans in a consulate in a foreign land...

2) Even if they couldn't get there in time to save those four, they could've ATTACKED and/or CAUGHT the perpetrators that were still there instead of letting them skip away all happy and satisfied there are dead Americans...

As a side note, I fully expect this military officer to get skewered by the press...How DARE he defy the administration narrative!!!!...;rolls

Deploying assets to save Americans would have conflicted greatly with the Obama campaign message that GM is alive, bin Laden is dead and Al Qeada is on the run.

So instead they let them die. So instead someone pushed the video. WHO PUSHED THE VIDEO?

Unfortunately the guy who would have had to give the OK for some type of military intervention was no where to be found that night.

It's amazing that no one knows where obama was the night of the attack, WHY?

The Obama loving media isn't going to skewer the General at least not now. The party line is that the investigation is over so they will do their best to ignore the evidence that had to be pried from the most transparent administration in history. Obama's media base will gamely keep on pushing even the idiotic denials of Jay Carney to avoid the truth that Obama cared not a moment that American diplomats were slaughtered by terrorists, he just wanted his own reelection.

Remember "moderator" Candy Crawley bailing out Obama in the debate by claiming his lie about Benghazi was the truth? The rabid partisan is back to her job "objectively" reporting the news. The media rewards those who please Obama.

The specter of Jimmy Carter's failed rescue of the hostages and his ultimate defeat to Reagan could have been lurking in the halls.

Benghazi will dog Hillary all the way to 2016. It is becoming more and more apparent that Hillary was the one that pushed the video lie. More precisely, by her press release at 10PM THE VERY NIGHT of the attacks blaming the video.

Worse yet were her lies to the families of the murdered Americans in Dover, vowing to "get the man that produced that inflammatory video and bring him to justice."

Despicable.

And Benghazi will dog Hussein all the way into History. He'll be remembered as the president that allowed good Americans to die for the sake of his reelection campaign.

Doubly despicable.

It really angers me to hear some White House press reporters reporting they'll lose access if they ask about Benghazi.
