It makes me happy when people vote, even if our politics differ.

I would love to see election day become a national holiday with only essential employee's required to work. I believe several countries already do this but in America,I suspect there would be strong opposition to this idea..

No, in order to vote absentee, I would have to lie. No reason I can't just go to the polls.

If we had nationwide Vote By Mail, we wouldn't need to take the day off, just mail out the ballots, mail them back or drop them off and call it a done deal. Of course that would mean that you'd have to embrace a policy that saved money and enfranchised voters, made it easier to vote informed and improved the voting system by moving away from punch cars, e-voting, etc. used a rock solid technology (optical readers) to count the votes.

Since when did "I'm not voting" mean he's voting Democratic OR Republican.

Gees, you folks hate Democrats. The inference is if we win, we only win when committ fraud. That's wrong.

I think that my wife and I are going to sit down and vote tonight. We like to make an evening out of it. We sit down with our ballots and voter's guide and talk through the issues/candidates and then she votes like tell her to (JUST KIDDING, there's almost always a couple of issues/candidates that she goes the other way on).
