Am I the only one who finds that kind of humorously creepy? It's like a cartoon version of a soviet statue.
You mean 'was'...

Rains wash away Mount Obama in Charlotte, N.C.

Quote:
A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama — an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention.

Workers were trying Saturday afternoon to reform the base of the sculpture, built from sand brought in from Myrtle Beach, S.C., pounding and smoothing out the sand that had washed off the facade of the waist-up rendering of the chief executive.

The sand sculpture was protected from above, and Mr. Obama's face didn't see too much damage. But the storm was so strong that its heavy winds blew the rain sideways, pelting the president's right side and leaving the sand pockmarked and completely erasing his right elbow.
An image washed away with the simplest of reality...

I don't know if I'm describing the sand sculpture or Obama's actual presidency...

I liked Ann Romney's speech. She really stuck it to that dingbat that said, "Ann Romney never worked a day in her life".
Christie's speech was boring then again as an NJ resident I am no Christie fan. He is good on dealing with public sector unions, but needs to do more including going after private sector unions. He is also bad on Second Amendment issues; national security (including the defination of Islam) and he buys into the climate change hoax.

Clint Eastwood's speech was an embarrassment. I love most ot his movies, but that speech makes me wonder it he is senile

Rubio's speech was the high point of the show.

I fell asleep before Ryan's and Romney's speeches. I don't understand why they run so late.

Finally on th GOP convention. I think it flopped. The first issue was the audio. The cheering wasn't miked well. So even if there was excitement in the audience it was hard to tell. Christie and Rubio were taking turns using the convention to boast themselves. Ann Romney had a gameplan to reach out to woman. Thus "I love you woman" screetch. Ryan messed his brand a bit by proving to be a fabricator. Many of the things he said Obama had done either were untrue or were decided the same by Ryan himself. Romney did a stump speech with no memorable lines. Clint will be the most memorable thing of the program and all and all it failed. I think the bounce will be minimal if at all.

Well of course you think it flopped, you are a partisan left-winger and are not allowed to say anything different.

Sorry, but anyone who can say Ann Romney "screeched" doesn't have much credibility in my book.

I wouldn't say she screeched but she did pander to the women voters , that was apparent in her message. It's not a secret Willard is behind with women voters so Anne was sent out there to win over as many as she could. I think overall her speech and Condi Rice's speech were the best. Marco Rubio impressed me with his stage presence. I wouldn't vote for him on the issues but he gave an inspiring speech for sure.
Christie was a joke IMO. He just proved himself the big bully in the room that everyone thinks he is.
I think their biggest mistake was allowing Clint Eastwood to give his " Drunk Uncle" presentation. That mistake was compounded in the fact that they immediately followed with the Nominee acceptance speech. They should have had Clint do his crazy act on day one, so the media would have it out of their system before Willard Spoke. The Idea of the Convention is to introduce the Nominee and for his base to get to know him a bit more. Now all the media is talking about is the Empty Chair.. forgetting all about the empty suit who's actually trying to unseat a President.

Ann Romney sounded like Oprah when she did that. I was expecting her to tel the audience to look underneath their chairs for a set of car keys.

Lol, sweetie, it's the Democrats that have been fear-mongering to women for decades to keep them in line. I'm sorry you can't see that. The Democrats
understand most women can't see that and I guess they are correct.

Ummm, Clint was not directly before the "the Nominee acceptance speech", Marco Rubio gave his speech then introduced Mitt.

Personally I don't think Republicans much care WHAT liberals say about Clint's speech. FTR, Clint didn't come off as "drunk".
Liberals just cannot STAND it that the biggest name in Hollywood is for Romney. It is the ULTIMATE insult for Barack. hahahahahaha, I love it.

Wanna make a wager? Wanna bet who's appearance makes the more lasting impression on America? Clint Eastwood or Eva Longoria?

Do you think it's weird that Romney didn't mention Afghanistan, Iraq or the men and women who are serving. Didn't mention the wars the troops but always wants to sabre rattle with Iran.
