I work in a Bible Belt area.... when we didn't enforce the 'covered tattoo' rule we had many comments/complaints about employees tattoos, and usually the ones that depicted knives, skulls, death, and other assorted gruesomness brought the most negative comments.

But you can't discriminate, due to the letigious society were are in, so ALL tattoos must be covered.

Personally, I couldn't care if a person has a tattoo, as long as they don't care if I stare long enough to figure out what the tattoo is.
I've worked for the govt, multiple restaurants, adventure companies, management at SOE, large insurance company, drove an ambulance, and worked in multiple other venues and I've only had ONE place require I cover a tattoo. And it was when I worked as a waitress ("banquet server") at a hotel in Florida. They made me cover the tat around my ankle, but oddly never said a word about the one on my hand. Likely, they never even ****ing noticed the one on my hand. LMFAO But, we wore shorts and shoes without socks when we worked, and they made me put a damn tennis cuff thing around my ankle to cover this tattoo. Do you know how ****ing stupid that looked? Every goddamn person I talked to asked me why I was wearing that stupid tennis cuff thing around my ankle. And every time they asked, I pulled it down and showed them the tattoo and told them that my bosses made me wear it to cover the tat. And every single time I did, they commented on how silly that rule was. Some even complained to the management about the silliness of said rule. So, in essence... the fact they made me cover it actually drew more attention to it and more people saw it than would have if I hadn't had to cover it in the first place.

So stupid.

I see both sides of the issue, but unfortunately, some tattoos also include words that other people don't use. You know the one, ****. LOL!!!

Well then if they have issues with those, then THOSE should be required to be covered. Like shirts that say "**** you". They're not going to ban all shirts. They're just going to forbid the wearing of the ones that say "Fvck you" on them.

Eh, plan ahead before you get a tattoo. I know I plan on getting a few in the future (All though they will all be hidden). I do take assurance though knowing most police officers and firefighters that I have met have tattoos

Seriously though, if someone came into my office with a neck tattoo or a dragon going down their arms, I do not think I would take them seriously.

Haha is it really? It isn't going to be something stupid right? Like a spider web covering your throat or snakeskin?

Something akin to the attached down the back of my neck.

Ah I see. Make sure you post a picture after you get it! Any particular reason for the design?
