OMG, you are so Republican!!! You are just like my BIL. Didn't prepare? How can you possibly know this? This man has a college degree, worked in logistics for years. The problem is, THERE ISN'T ANY FRIGGIN JOBS TO TAKE. Baby Jesus on a stick, would you just listen to yourself? My BIL is so non-chalant. Well, let them move to where the jobs are. Okay, great, and just how the hell are you going to do that WHEN YOU CAN FRIGGIN SELL YOUR HOUSE?!?!?!? I suppose, in this perfect world you live in, everyone has a second house they can just move to, a second job lined up in the neighborhood, blah blah blah. Where the heck do you shop? Walgreens? |

"You do what you need to do."... If you can't do that, then expect life to crumble when your plans don't have a backup...

Seems to me redd, that you're just being a snot in trying to say that 'insurance can be affordable only if' and then trying to imply that having a family is what causes people not to be able to afford said insurance...It isn't whether or not a person has a family or not, but whether or not they are gainfully employed and earning fair wages. And one of the biggest contributers to insurance costing so much, is the insurance companies themselves. It's more a buisness, it's sole intent to make a profit, not make insurance affordable in the first place. No matter what you take out of the consumers life, whether or not that consumer is single or married with/without children...The insurance companies still are going to raise their prices and make it unaffordible to the majority of consumers. Period. Not unless the insurance companies themselves are put in check and stopped at making outrageous profits at the benefit of our citizens. Your expectations about what makes/doesn't make insurance affordable, as well as what you think someone that is middle class should/shouldn't have or do without is just plain silly as well as unsubstantiated. As Knot said...You're blowing smoke darling.

But being the person I am, I have my plans for that day already in place... I continually update my resume...I continually to LEARN other things...I put myself in a position where I would be needed, and not a position that just needs a body... The biggest question you could ask 100 people in the middle class is this... "Do you have a backup in case your current situation falters?"... What do YOU think the answer is out of those 100 that would say "yes"... I'd guess 10...15 if your lucky... ![]()

And you will get to an age where they don't want you anymore, regardless of experience. There's always someone younger, smarter, cheaper....
