I don't care as long as they keep their resultant problems in their own cultures/countries, but when immigrants start bringing these problems into other countries, and the people of those other countries have to spend money to help the immigrants pay for the support of medical problems related to inbreeding practices, I think it's a big problem. If the OP article is correct, and England is paying for medical problems of a group comprising 3% of the birth rate, but 33% of the medical-related genetic problems and deformities, this is putting a burden on the taxpayer when nothing can be done to address the problem.

For that reason then - we should be frakking the Amish - they have a HUGE inbreeding problem - big enough that they are often used in genetic studies. Another group with a huge problem is Ashkanazi Jews.

Are these problems causing significant medical problems that we, as taxpayers, are paying for? It's not a Pakistani issue to me, it's an immigrant issue.

Frankly, with Obamacare on the horizon, we will be singling out unhealthy lifestyles, whether we agree with it or not. Did you miss the *immigrant* part of my post, or did you ignore it? It's really not an issue to me if people want to inbreed in their own cultures.

It's a community issue and singling out immigrants is scapegoating. It was done with the Irish, the East European Jews, the Chinese....and, oh yes - "inbreeding" was part of the narrative. I don't understand how it can be "an immigrant issue" when it's an issue that is plainly a problem in a number of American communities and ethnic groups.
