Default New Logo

here's the old Missile Defense Agency logo

& here's the new one

wikipedia still uses the old one
Missile Defense Agency - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

but the missile defense agency website uses the new one
The Missile Defense Agency - U.S. Department of Defense

Are we going to start seeing variations of the Obama "O" popping up everywhere?

The real issue here is "re-invention"...

What USED to be considered generic "America logos" are now being redefined into "Obama logos"...It's like putting garlic on everything because it's your personal taste...

Somebody modernizes a logo, uses a circle, and I'll be if it ain't Obama trying to take over everything...

I have only had experience with some of my kids designing logos and other types of business art.
I can tell you this, there was probably competition or word put out among several designers and one of them was picked.
Now a sneaky thing about winning any kind of contest in logo design is to stroke them that needs strokin'. .
For instance, this may sound silly, but if you find out the designer of the original Smith County Fair rodeo logo is now on the panel to decide the 2010 logo, do yourself a favor and take a look at his/her original. If you incorporate his ideas in a new design you may have a better than average chance at winning. Also if part of the "team" at a corporation is covered under a "Z", incorporating that letter into your logo will turn heads.
People are so predictable.

But the issue isn't about picking a winner...

It's the fact that there was a winner to be picked in the first place...

Do you know how long the MDA has been around?...2002...

THAT'S IT!!!...8 friggin years!!!!...

I could understand doing this to an agency that needs marketing and has been around 30 years with an outdated logo that needs an upgrade, but hell!....My car accident was before this agency was even created, let alone having a logo...

To have it replaced so early...and with something that blatantly resembles a political symbol...was NOT done because it was needed...it was done for narcissism...

wow...someone actually gets it.
I certainly didn't make any accusation of some evil take over of everything.

No, I'm sticking with an Islamist conspiracy to take over missile defense.

Obama cut the MDA budget for 2010 by $1.2 billion from the 2009 budget. I don't think the folks at MDA like him very much.

That logo won't last long.

Anyone notice the irony of talking about a new logo for the Missile Defence Agency when we have a president whose against actual missile defense?...
