Somthing someone said in another thread about putting things in perspective got me to thinking of the things that I am grateful for.

• First I am grateful that my cancer scare this summer was just that, a scare that turned out to be nothing. (And for Blue Cross for paying most of the $45,000 bill involved.)
  
• For my partner who stands by me through thick and thin
  
• For a cozy home with sufficient food and clothing and a little change still in my pocket -- remembering that there are so many in this world who do not have that
  
• For family and friends -- including those of you whom I have never met in person but only through the wonder of cyberspace
  
• For living in a country where -- no matter how we may bitch about its imperfections -- we are free to pretty much choose how we want to live and who we want to be

I'm thankful for:

--The amazing family I was lucky enough to be born into
--Barney
--Friends both cyber and IRL
--My cozy home also
--The health I do have
--A job that is pleasant that feeds me and keeps me warm
--Most of my experiences in this journey called life

I am thankful at how lucky I was to begin with to be born in America.
To have adoptive parents who plucked me from God knows what fate, but introduced me to my birth mother and allowed me to get to know her.
Thankful I have four beautiful bright children.
I am thankful there is art and there is humor in the world.
I am thankful for my cat who showers me with love and devotion!
Oh yeah, and I'm thankful for my hubby too!
