You know how someone says "You need to get out more."?...

I think these people need to go back inside and turn on an air conditioner...

As someone who has hugged the last standing tree from a forest where I grew up and there were once thousands of trees and animals, I empathize greatly with these people. That is not my way to share my grief with others, but I can see their point.

Idiots. They should be celebrating the new life that will come about as a result of removeing these old trees and putting them to use and freeing up the land to grow even more trees. Of course, to an eco-nut, a little tree is meaningless, only big trees matter.

Agreed, and I've seen stupidity on the developers part that made me want to beat someone over the head with a 2x4. One of the prettiest places in the area I grew up had a bunch of old growth Pondo on a bluff over-looking the Little Deschutes River. You could look out over a wide open flood plain with the river running through it and Mt. Bachelor, the Three Sisters and Broken Top inthe background - all while standing in a patch of 3'-4' healthy Pondo. This was my favorite place to take girls in High School and to "burn a little vegetation". Some dipshit developer logged the trees and built a little sub-div. there. He took the trees to pay for the property development. They were his trees, but he devalued that property BIG TIME by cutting them. But, I've alse seen far more examples of stands of timber being wasted by NOT logging them. Do a little research into the B&B Complex fire and the history of the stands that got wasted. There were repeated attempts to log those stands and remove the diseased trees and clear the overgrown understory that were stopped by idiots like these crying over trees. Now, these very same morons are stopping the salvaging/replanting of these stands. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB!!!
