Fun with the Consumer Price Index
Just because ...
In March of 1981, gas rose to $3.44 a gallon. In today's dollars, that would be a whopping $8.16/gallon. So as bad as things are, they've been worse. Unfortunately, I don't see the current prices dropping back down though...
