Spencer,

I'm just not willing to give mendacious, duplicitous, self-serving politicians a pass by adding them to the already too-long list of PC victims and making 'we the people' the victimizers YET AGAIN! My original post was a 'truth in jest' opine - if you took it as dead serious then you got it wrong.

No,I got it right and took it with a grain of salt.I don't want to give them a free pass but I found the origional concept of the thread interesting.I've been around politics for many many years and the posturing is simply unbelievable.Politicians on both sides of the aisle will tell you that votes trump political philosophy. I know this to be fact,it's not just an opinion. There are some politicians who change positions on a regular basis and it's not because they saw the light or if you will..the "truth". They became aware of the "political" realities that they face.Should we hold their feet to the fire? ABSOLUTLY..regardless of their political affiliation.

Spencer,

I think we're on the same page, perhaps we're just getting bogged down in semantics...not to mention the inherent shortcomings of e-communication.

Cheers,
JC
