Jack Daniels does work but what has worked wonders for me is to avoid taking naps! If you must take a nap, limit it to between 15 and 30 minutes. I know it's difficult to stop taking naps but for me..this was the only answer.

real work. You know, like sweating and increased heart rate. huffing and puffing and so on. Works for me most of the time.

Or lets just stay awake. There will be plenty of time to rest when were dead.

Depends on how old you are.

When I was younger Mikey's idea of working up a good sweat and making myself genuinely physically tired worked really well.

Since I passed age 40, I find that melatonin is my best remedy.

Well I am 30... and rarely have a chance to nap

I spend my days delivering beer... usually around 750 cases... or 100 kegs... so I work up a good sweat on a daily basis... plus I have started walking again(having a who can lose the most weight by June 1st contest, plus quitting smoking )

I drink Jack Daniels like it is water... so that doesn't help much...

and the Doc said I don't need meds...

so what is melatonin lol...

I am down to about 3 hours of sleep a night if that...

Here is a site that explains it much better than I could. It has worked for me and my chiropractor swears by the stuff. Just be careful about dosage. My chiro takes 9 mg. a day;most people need 3mg; I only need 1 mg. Any more gives me narcolepsy the next day. If you are going to try it, do it on a day when you won't be driving the next day.

Melatonin is a hormone made by a part of the brain called the pineal (say: "pin-ee-all") gland. Melatonin may help our bodies know when it's time to go to sleep and when it's time to wake up. Melatonin supplements (in pill form) can also be taken. There are two types of melatonin that may be used in these pills: natural and synthetic (man-made). Natural melatonin is made from the pineal gland of animals. This form could be contaminated with a virus and is not recommended. The synthetic form of melatonin does not have this risk. If you are not sure if your melatonin is natural or synthetic, ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking it.

Melatonin can be used to treat insomnia (difficulty falling asleep and/or staying asleep). It can also be taken to prevent jet lag. Beyond that, there is little scientific evidence that melatonin has a role in promoting health or treating disease.
