You should know that "The Duke" was not really his nick name. He had a dog named Duke as a kid. The local fireman would them Little and Big Duke. Good thing they didn't name the dog spot or you'd be in a fix. I'm not a wayne expert. I grew up near where he did. And I met him a few times here in California. And my mom is buried a few plots away from him.

Most of my military service has been with a British cavalry regiment, the 17/21 Lancers (now merged with another regiment and known as the Queen's Royal Lancers). Hence the name Lancer.

I re-badged for my current tour, so now only a lancer in name.
