I was just watching the BBC. They had a report on people living in Sierra Leon. 1 in 4 children die before the age of 5. The world is richer then any time in history. I have been alive over 50 years and the story in these countries have never really changed in all of that time. In Sweden the number is 1 in 370. Whats the difference? Radical Islam is taking root in these places out of desperation for help. They are easily converted because we basically have more important shit to do. Like get ready for the new Ipod. We are very willing to send arms to them. Maybe some food when they start to starve. But since Kennedy we haven't really thought about a real plan to help these people. I send money to a group I like. Doctors without borders is my favorite charity group.
I'm not a religious man but I do believe in helping those in need. But I think it makes good political sense to win the hearts and minds of these people. If we don't look in the mirror once in a while how do we know how we look.
