I didn't see the original, and don't even want to comment on whether or not anything is appropriate for an adult, but I do want to point out that I have my computer in the living room, and that I have a 7 year old running around the house, so anything that appears on the screen can be viewed by my 7 year old as well. I tend to be very protective about what I allow him to view, since I believe we rush the adult stuff on kids too much as it is.

With this in mind, I'd say that if I were running a site, I'd want it to appeal to as many people as possible, and so I'd also put the kabosh on certain images. Now, the ones that have upset me the most in the past are when somebody posts really graphic images of war (so as to elicit a visceral response), and do so without warning. I had to act very fast once when my son was close by. Same goes for the sexual stuff, though, since folks who have kids running around the house might be leery of joining a website if the posting of such images got out of hand.

I doubt if any conversation will ever arrive at a consensus by way of posting images and asking "is this porn?, well, how 'bout this?", since it is a judgement call and we are dealing in increments. Instead, I think we should be talking in terms of how to achieve a comfort level for folks in such a way as to make the site attractive to the most people. In my case, it isn't that I am offended by anything, but rather that I just don't want my kid exposed to it.

cnredd the person doesn't get offended very easily...I would never be "tut-tutting" over some hardcore images whether sexual or violent...

But cnredd the owner does take issue with it...There's a certain image the forum should project, and that's one where decency is embraced and we don't push potential members away because lines were crossed...

HAVING SAID THAT....

I DO have the ability to create an Adult Sub-forum...Not only would guests not be able to see it, I can even make it to where members must be "cleared" by the Mod Team in order to see it and enter...That way, members can make their own decisions as to whether or not they want to view or participate...

I personally don't see a need for such a forum myself. I'm sure it would be a hit with the fellas...But as a girl, I'd have no such intrest in it.

There are some very adult jokes that are out there that I would not normally post in an open forum.... I don't think it would be used for anything more than a joke forum. I think it would be interesting...

Jokes aren't a big deal...But considering the nature of the reason behind this thread??? Of a member being upset that they couldn't post a picture of a muff shot?

I'm sorry...Although I don't have a problem with nudity in and of itself, I just really don't want to VIEW said nudity on my screen. Nor have to worry about others in my household viewing said materials if/when it pops up.

If I wanted that, I'd join a porn site. LOL!

The difference is if someone posts a photo elsewhere throughout the forum it's a crapshoot...

Look at this thread...The title says "Is this nude"...But you can't TELL if you don't open it up...It's a roll of the dice...

With an Adult Section, that doesn't come into play...You KNOW what the section is about, and can choose to avoid it at your own discretion...Even to a point where you won't even see the section if you choose not to...

To me, if the "special" forum title was titled "devil worshiping", I would skip by it and not go in.. But I am not going to say that you shouldn't go in there.. ;o) I would rather see them create a forum for that type of issue, and not risk someone posting a huge Manshifter in the public forum.. Kind of keeps it in tow.. u know..

I don't know what a "Manshifter" is, and I hope I die not knowing...
