Ok, then my answer is "My favorite New Year's drink is the same one for the non-New Year's days"...

Used to enjoy bourbon & diet gingerale, but since I no longer ingest aspartame (aka nutrasweet--that shit is BAAAAAAD news!) and refuse to drink regular pop, I will now enjoy vodka and cranberry juice sweetened with splenda.

TB, I also avoid aspartame, so I know where you are coming from!

I think you would have enjoyed our party last night. We had about 30 people over, and the evening's signature drink was something I made up, that we decided over the course of the evening to call the New Year Sparkler.

1 part vodka
2 parts cranberry juice
2 parts pomegranate juice

Shake, serve straight up.

I poured a LOT of those last night.
I think that would take care of any need for artificial sweeteners for you.

Oh, and personally, for New Year's Eve, just keep the champagne coming.
If there is any left the next day, add OJ, and serve alongside an omelet.

Forester--that sounds to die for! But you know what sounds better? Your party! I'm all partied out, but I'm sure yours was worth the trek out for folks!

I'ma gonna get me some of that pomegranet juice. Thanks for the recipe! And champagne breakfast! YES!!! Takes me back to my college days...
