I started this thread JUST for the fact that I wanted to write what just happened...I'm sure many of you have things like this happen, too...

A couple of months ago, I was going to a bar, but ealier in the day I was at the bank, and I didn't want to go into the bar with extra money, so I took the $100 bill out (belive me, it's rare ) and put it in a little compartment on the car ceiling where I keep my insurance and registration...

And then promptly forgot I did that...

Today, I went out for a couple of minutes...I got my new insurance card in the mail today, so I took it with me to the car...I opened up that little compartment, and out dropped the hundred bucks!...

I feel like I just hit the numbers!!!...

That's way cool! It's been years since I found any forgotten money in coat pockets.

Here's what's up with me: I abruptly changed careers about a year and a half ago thanks to a very good & sweet friend who recommended me for a position that opened in her division at the local children's hospital. My town has a very well respected medical community and I am fortunate to be a part of it now.

We have a couple of openings in our department and my friend was asked to interview applicants. She's been out of management for years, and so called someone she knew that could help her brush up on these skills. One thing led to another and she's about to be offered a fabulous new job with a hefty raise. I'm going to miss working with her.

Lesson learned: The power of networking is not to be underestimated.

And what a lesson!...

I helped get a guy hired with me at an old job about 14 years ago...He left the company about 2 years after I did and got a job making more than me...

I told him I wanted royalties...

Whenever I meet people (especially in my field) I hand them a business card...I had them made up because I don't have them from my company (I don't do outside work, so no need to)...

In fact, I should get new ones printed with the forum's address added to them...
