Default Buy one, get one

Does anyone remember "BOGOF"? Some items were once sold buy one, get one free. But that seems to have gone the way of the brontosaurus.

Nowadays, it is almost always "BOGO" (buy one, get one); and the second one is typically just 50 percent off (and, occasionally, I have even seen it just 25 percent off).

Have others noticed this?

it's mainly because managers have less and less leeway about setting prices; it's tightly controlled by corporate and none of them bustards ever worked in a store.

you're welcome. I am an observant person. Or should I say thoughtful. I noticed several years ago here even in this little town the powers that be or who bought out the local grocer doesn't give thee option of ordering bulk canned goods for those who buy up for the winter. There are ranchers and country folk and even us town folk stock up our basements. Now we have to drive 30 mils to a Costco.
But a lot of other places haven't had the local manager in control of much for decades. Like displaying this or that in a new area because it's been slow or not selling. That's gone like thee two fer sales. Just an historical fact.
