In the film Star Trek the Wrath of Kahn... which is depicted in the ornament... Spock gave Kirk a hardback version of 'A tale of 2 Cities' . Kirk later movingly quotes a portion of it "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known." . Here's the thing, Charles Dickens's 'A tale of 2 Cities' is considered one of Dickens's most Christian books. It ends with the sacrifice of an "innocent" man who, to fulfill a greater love, takes the place of a condemned man. Which delivers the condemned man to freedom and family and a renewed life.

So thanks for the reminder. In this case Star Trek does in fact point to the REAL coming, sacrifice and rising from the dead Of Jesus Christ

IF one takes time you look at all the suppose "pre-dated" stories of Jesus in detail you'll find that they all are cherry picked, misread and shoehorned to match Jesus after the fact and promoted by many psudo historians.

this is not just a christian talking, many secular historian will bear this out. New-age lead pseudo -historians and occult leaning types promote the Christ myth as archetype ideas. while ignoring the historical details that defeat the comparisons outright.

Dude...
Do you have any concern regarding your credibility at all?

"cherry picked"?
The story of "the savior" has existed in multiple cultures pre-dating Christianity's Jesus.
That isn't "cherry-picking".

And you SERIOUSLY need to knock off this crap where you blindly throw links at people without even reading to see what applies / doesn't apply.

It is amazing how you can proclaim Star Trek II is an "echoes/allusion" to Jesus ...
... but then refuse to admit the same regarding Jesus and previous savior stories.
The hypocrisy and audacity of that is amazing!

Who are you quoting that you claim is secular?
And what are they actually saying.

Let's start with that and then we'll move on.

The very first link you gave IS NOT a "secular historian".
Neither is the second.
Neither is the third.
Neither is the fourth.

And going through the links, I see the authors are quoting other Christian authors.

Quit saying junk just because it sounds good and actually stick with a simple attempt that you are willing to back up instead of perpetually throwing more and more crap at people until they realize you can't discuss the topic intelligently.

Let's take one specific example.
Horus.

Can you discuss the similarities between the Horus story and the Jesus story without trying to move the goal-posts when your arguments flail or blindly throwing links at me that don't say what you claim?

Can you do that?

If yes, I'll happily start another thread to discuss it.
As is, I see no reason to waste time...
