Today starts a new chapter for this country.

Here's hoping his leadership takes us good places, returns some freedoms to us, reduces government involvement in everyday choices, and he learns that tweeting his every thought is not a good idea.

Slainte!

Oh he has a lot more to learn, about changing how he goes about things. I just doubt he wants to bother.

For so long he has operated with the idea of come big, make a loud noise and spread as much glitter as possible, and by now it has become his style.

It's getting somewhat easier each day.

Thanks for all the love messages.
I just saw this. May she be happy at play in Heaven.

I am sorry for you loss Lollie, so many pets that we have had for a while become part of our lives.
And losing one or more does hurt and requires time to heal... I had both parents and 4 pups for about 14 years. I over time buried each one, and felt each lose.
Yet in time only the good memories are left.... R.I.P. Gretchen

There she became my lady and their mom.

I can only imagine that Gretchen, was something like this to you...

From the Guardian live feed:

There’s footage of Trump walking Obama through the Capitol rotunda. We’re not making this up. The camera catches a snippet of their conversation. Obama is heard to say to Trump: “Well as I said, we’ll be right around the corner.”

My sitcom idea where Trump secretly keeps Obama on as an advisor is coming true.

It's been a whole week now, but still seems like yesterday.

I have been hesitant about posting much about her dying on this forum because of the atmosphere and wondering if someone would say something wrong to hurt my feelings.

Should know better than that, huh?

She passed away shortly after I got home that night.
I held her til the end and cried like I haven't in a long time.
She is resting in a beautiful place with other doggies and kitties.
One which I can visit often.

The other day, one of our dog therapy people brought Jesse the heeler in for a visit.
He seemed to be able to sense that I was sad and did his work on a nurse and our residents.

Jesse (and Amber)

A very good friend of mine is having a child. She had a emergency the other night. I covered her bar shift. Had a great time and enjoyed it.

Allow enough time to let the healing begin. We all hold on to the pain at first when we lose ones close to us. Though it might bring tears a picture album of the two of you over the years comes in handy to get this process moving along.
That is if you have one. With six dogs as my close family living alone in the country I had three albums in which about every picture had one or more dogs in it.
At first it hurt to look and recall but man it did help me to lose the pain and gain back the memories.
