Good, Nacho! Good boy!

Police dog Nacho helps sniff out $1 million worth of meth in a subwoofer box

Police dog Nacho was helping deputies during a Colorado traffic stop when he sniffed out drugs in the trunk of the vehicle.

Adams County Sheriff's County Deputy Bonder had pulled the vehicle over for speeding on June 16, the department posted to Facebook.

"He observed that both the driver and passenger were very nervous," the post says.

While Bonder was writing the speeding ticket, K-9 Deputy Lopez and Nacho showed up. That's when Nacho alerted the two deputies about drugs in the trunk.

In the trunk, the Colorado deputies found 113 pounds of methamphetamine in a subwoofer box, or a complete loudspeaker. The sheriff's office said the meth seized has a street value of more than $1 million.

In addition to the driver's speeding ticket, Senior Deputy Michael D. Kaiser told Fox News that both the driver and passenger will face distribution of controlled substances charges.

Can we stop putting the words "liberal" and "facts" in the same sentence?

Left-wing magazine’s fact-checker resigns over tweet falsely implying disabled veteran is a Nazi

A fact-checker for the New Yorker resigned from her position after her tweet about a disabled veteran’s tattoo falsely implied he’s a Nazi, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Talia Lavin also apologized to the former Marine, Justin Gaertner, who’s now an agent for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the paper said.

But in another tweet Thursday, Lavin tore into ICE for targeting her in its own tweet about Gaertner, who lost both legs to an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in 2011, the Times noted.

What did she say?
“This has been a wild and difficult week,” Lavin wrote, the paper reported. “I owe ICE agent Justin Gaertner a sincere apology for spreading [a] rumor about his tattoo. However, I do not think it is acceptable for a federal agency to target a private citizen for a good faith, hastily rectified error.”

Lavin’s tweet last week about a cross-shaped tattoo on Gaertner’s elbow elicited a response from ICE saying she had “essentially labeled him a Nazi,” the Times said, adding the agency described his tattoo as a Titan 2 — a symbol of his platoon.

In her resignation message, Lavin tweeted that she “had become a weapon used to discredit my colleagues and the vital work they do holding power to account,” the paper said.

However, she also said ICE was dishonest about her role in the dust-up, the Times said.

“ICE also lied about me, saying I originated the scrutiny of Gaertner’s tattoo,” Lavin said in a tweet, the paper reported, adding that the 28-year-old also claimed ICE targeted her because of the New Yorker’s criticism of the federal agency.

“I wasn’t the genesis of this rumor; there are tweets still up with tens of thousands of likes explicitly calling the tattoo ‘Nazi,’” Lavin said in a message to the Times.

Who else questioned the tattoo?

The paper said in previous story that actor Ron Perlman tweeted questions about the tattoo: “I know I’m a leftist, ‘D List’ actor, so my twitter feed is probably deceiving me, but is that an iron cross tattooed on this hero’s arm? This is a mistake, right? Cuz the Iron Cross was a symbol of Nazi Germany. Gotta be my twitter feed is leaning left again.”

Perlman later apologized for his tweet — but didn’t have much love for ICE:

Lavin noted to the Times that her “tweet was responsive to extant scrutiny, and I deleted it and issued a correction within 15 minutes, long before ICE could have been aware of it. I was targeted because I was part of a news organization critical of ICE.”

She also told the paper she was “a useful foil: a fat Jewish feminist with a Harvard education. ICE said I ‘baselessly slandered an American hero,’ artificially pitted me against a disabled veteran, and engineered a conservative news cycle in which I was a villain.”

ICE officials declined comment Friday, the Times said, while the New Yorker did not immediately respond to the paper’s request for comment. But the Times noted that the magazine apologized for the original Lavin tweet earlier this week.

Polish charity gets huge phone bill thanks to stork

Quote:
According to official broadcaster Radio Poland, the environmental EcoLogic Group placed a tracker on the back of a white stork last year to track the bird's migratory habits.

It travelled some 3,700 miles (6,000kms), and was traced to the Blue Nile Valley in eastern Sudan before the charity lost contact.

EcoLogic told the Super Express newspaper that somebody found the tracker in Sudan, removed the sim card and put it in their own phone, where they then racked up 20 hours' worth of phone calls.

Radio Poland says that the organisation has received a phone bill of over 10,000 Polish zloty ($2,700; £2,064), which it will have to pay.

Father, 4 daughters killed in Delaware crash, mother survives

A New Jersey man and his four daughters, aged 13 to 20, have been killed in a crash in Delaware, state police said Saturday.

The lone survivor was the man’s 53-year-old wife, who was in the front passenger seat.

The crash occurred Friday afternoon on State Route 1 Highway in Townsend. They were in a 1998 Toyota Sienna and were returning to New Jersey.

A friend of the family, Linda Douglas, identified the father as Audie Trinidad; the 20-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn; the 17-year-old daughter, Danna; and the two teen twins as Allison and Melissa, the Newark Star-Ledger reported.

"The daughters were just so sweet to my family and had so much compassion for my daughters," she said, according to the paper.

Douglas started a GoFundMe page on behalf of the mother, Mary Rose.

The Filipino American Society of Teaneck also sent their condolences on Facebook Saturday and identified the family, the Star-Leger reported.

"The Lord took too many angels from us yesterday," the post said.

Blue and red tarps covering the Sienna vehicle with its front-end smashed were seen in photos taken from the scene of the fatal collision.

A southbound 2007 Ford F-350 pickup crossed the median and struck a 2002 Mercury Sable traveling northbound,
Delaware State Police Master Cpl.Melissa Jaffe said, according to Philadelphia's Fox 29.

The Sable came to rest on the median, while the pickup continued to travel southbound in the northbound lanes and was hit by a minivan carrying the New Jersey man and his family, Jaffe said.

"I cannot imagine what they're going through. To lose four children in a crash is just something that's unheard of," she said.

The man and his wife were wearing seatbelts, police said. The girls were not.The driver of the pickup, a 44-year-old man from East New Market, Maryland, and his passenger were treated and released, police said.

They were wearing seatbelts. The driver of the Sable, a 24-year-old man from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was also treated and released. He was wearing a seatbelt, police said. The cause of the crash was under investigation, police said.

April Kinsey, a resident of the nearby neighborhood, told the News Journal of Wilmington that she covered her mouth after she found out the severity of the car wreck.

“It’s sad, but it doesn’t surprise me,” she said, adding that the stretch of the highway sees frequent crashes.

The vehicle's roof appeared to have been cut off by rescue workers and was lying upside down on the ground nearby.

"It's certainly heartbreaking. As you can imagine those of us that have family and children ... I feel so bad for this family," Jaffe said.

The Delaware State Park Police Collision Reconstruction unit was leading the investigation.

Car crashes into Pennsylvania home at 80 mph in shocking video

A York, Pa., man is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to flee authorities while driving under the influence, later crashing into a woman’s home and causing thousands of dollars' worth of damage.

On July 4, Kameron Smith was allegedly driving under the influence and fleeing authorities while driving an unregistered, uninsured Mini Cooper, FOX43 reported.

At one point during the roughly two-mile chase, Kameron Smith allegedly crossed over the southbound lane on North George Street in Manchester Township, traveled through Jennifer Smith’s yard and hit the side of her house before the car landed on its side, home surveillance footage of the incident shows. The news station reported that he was driving 80 mph when he crashed.

“At first I thought maybe a bookcase fell over or something, but it was so loud and it went on for so long that I knew someone had hit the house," Jennifer Smith told the news station, adding that Kameron Smith attempted to apologize before he was taken away by authorities.

The incident left a large hole in the side of the side of the house, which was boarded up by Jennifer Smith’s neighbor, who is also a contractor. Still, additional repairs are needed.

"It is very frustrating because now my homeowners insurance policy is going to go through the roof,” Jennifer Smith said, adding that she owes $1,000 in deductible costs and roughly $20,000 in damages. She is hopeful that her insurance will cover the costs.

"I'll ask for restitution as part of [Kameron Smith's] criminal charges to make sure I get at least the deductible back that I have to pay out of pocket," she said.

"But that doesn't always guarantee you're going to see your money,” she added.

Kameron Smith is now facing charges that include driving under the influence, driving under suspension, fleeing and eluding, and driving an unregistered vehicle, according to FOX43.

Woman gets 40 years in prison for trying to sell 2-year-old daughter for sex

A Houston woman accused of offering to sell her 2-year-old daughter for sex at a cost of $1,200 has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Twenty-five-year-old Sarah Marie Peters was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to charges that include promotion of prostitution.

Authorities say undercover officers in Montgomery County, north of Houston, encountered Peters online on a social media site. They say she forwarded photos of young girls and asked if there was anyone who wanted "to have fun" with her daughter.

Detectives watched Peters board a bus in Houston with her daughter to travel to Conroe, where she thought she was meeting a man who would pay for sex with the toddler.

She was arrested Feb. 22. Her daughter is the custody of state Child Protective Services.

Not really surprising. Peeps are sick and tired of elite Hollywood libs shoving their partisan bs down our throats; especially with movies that give a bias, agenda-driven spin on true events.

Liberal filmmaker Rob Reiner's 'Shock and Awe' disappoints at box office with dismal opening weekend

Liberal filmmaker Rob Reiner’s Bush administration-bashing “Shock and Awe” was a disappointment during its debut weekend with an embarrassing box office intake.

“Shock and Awe” grossed only $41,000 on its opening weekend after being shown in only 100 theaters, according to Box Office Mojo. “Shock and Awe” finished No. 34 overall, behind numerous movies that have already been in theaters for several weeks, according to the service. Reiner’s film lost to other movies that were played in a limited number of theaters, including “Eighth Grade,” which was showed in only four theaters but managed to gross $252,284, according to the site.

The production budget for “Shock and Awe” is not publicly available, according to Box Office Mojo.

Reiner, an outspoken critic of President Trump, plays a courageous editor in the film about a group of Knight Ridder reporters who are skeptical of President George W. Bush's claim that that Saddam Hussein was hiding "weapons of mass destruction," which resulted in the 2003 invasion of Iraq. The film’s synopsis notes that it is based on the true events of “the only ones who got it right" when the journalists “questioned the true nature of the Bush White House's justification for the conflict.”

The movie stars Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones, James Marsden and Jessica Biel, in addition to Reiner himself. Reiner also co-produced and directed the film. “Shock and Awe” didn’t only disappoint at the box office, it was also mocked by critics and theatergoers. After one weekend in theater, Reiner’s film on received 36 percent on Rotten Tomatoes’ famed Tomatometer.

“The filmmaking here is so pedestrian, flat-footed and overly-obvious as to leave ‘Shock and Awe’ one of those second-rate dramatic movies that make you wish that it had been a top-notch documentary instead,” RogerEber.com critic Godfrey Cheshire wrote.

Washington Post film critic wrote a scathing review headlined, “Rob Reiner's newspaper drama 'Shock and Awe' fails to live up to its name,” which mocks the story as “a lecture” that should have been a thriller.

“The director [Reiner] tries to infuse ‘Shock and Awe’ with the taut procedural drama of ‘All the President's Men,’ ‘Spotlight’ or ‘The Post.’ But he winds up demonstrating just how difficult it is to make shoe-leather journalism entertaining, much less artful,” Hornaday wrote.

Earlier this year, Reiner attacked "GOP patriots" and called for an end to Trump's presidency on the heels of the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Fla.

The Hollywood writer and director tweeted, "How much longer do we have to put up with a mentally ill sociopath? When the f---ed up psyche of the leader of the free world comes before the horrific deaths of innocent children, it’s time for GOP patriots to stand up and end this sickness."

Back in December, while accepting a social justice award at the African American Film Critics Association Awards, Reiner called the Trump presidency “the last battle of the Civil War.”

4 blacks were refused service at a Waffle House based solely on their race.

Wait, what? Oh...ya mean it was 4 cops who were refused service just because they were cops? Then that makes it ok. Libs won't be outraged now.

Waffle House employee reportedly refuses to serve 4 police officers. Restaurant quickly responds.

Jennings Police Department Chief Danny Semmes says that a Jennings, Louisiana, Waffle House reportedly refused to serve four police officers on Saturday morning.

What are the details?

According to KPLC-TV, Semmes said that a Facebook post made by Jennings Police Officer Ryan Courville alleged that a Waffle House employee refused service to four officers simply on the grounds that they were police officers.

KPLC reports that the Facebook post was shared more than 800 times as of Saturday. The original post has since been deleted, according to KATC-TV.

Blue Lives Matter reported on Sunday that Courville’s original posting read, “It’s sad when 4 police officers are refused service at Waffle House in Jennings … for the simple fact we are police officers.”

Courville reportedly added, “Corporate was called. Just thought I’d share.”

In a Saturday Facebook post of his own, Semmes wrote, “I just received a call from Waffle House regional management concerning this [morning’s] incident involving jennings police officers. I was assured that the situation will be handled appropriately and that officers are always welcome at Waffle House. I regret this incident occurred and hope that we can move forward together.”

At the time of this writing, Semmes’ post has received over 100 likes and has been shared over 70 times.

Did the Waffle House respond?

KPLC reported that the Waffle House also issued a statement apologizing for the incident and promised to conduct a review into the allegations in order to take the appropriate action in a swift manner.

The full statement read:

Our management team has reached out to Chief Semmes and apologized for the incident. We are conducting a full review, and once we get all the facts we will take appropriate action quickly. Our goal is for every customer to have an enjoyable experience. If we do not deliver on that promise, we work hard to rebuild the customer’s trust.

This is a developing story and will be updated as needed.
