Scientists Find Alzheimer’s Treatment While Trying To Cure Diabetes CBS New York
that's great news and very interesting. A Dr featured in the interview/story on CBN about Coconut Oil having some reversal effects on Alzheimers mentioned that Alzheimers was very much like diabetes.

Global warming kickin' ass and takin' names.

Millions of Americans are blasted by intense deep freeze -- some a lot more than others | Fox News

Quote:
Wind and frigid temperatures are blasting millions of Americans along the East Coast this weekend, with some suffering through extreme lows.

How extreme? Consider this: Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, saw winds of more than 90 mph on Saturday with a temperature of minus 37 degrees and a wind chill of an unprecedented minus 93. The New Hampshire chill zone ties Armstrong, Ontario, for second place as the coldest location in the world.

A “massive arctic air mass” pummeling a third of the country is slated to continue through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service, before warmer temperatures arrive early next week. Wind chill warnings continue for parts of Pennsylvania through Maine, where the wind chill could possibly hit minus 20, the NWS said.

“Frigid temperatures and dangerous wind chills have enveloped much of the eastern U.S. this weekend,” NWS tweeted. “Take precautions to prevent frostbite while outdoors.”

The NWS said a person can get frostbite under these conditions in a matter of minutes, with exposed skin and extremities like hands and feet being most vulnerable.

I get peeps wanna place blame for such a horrific attack but not sure goin' after the hotel is the right thing.

MGM Mandalay Bay claims staff interacted with shooter more than ten times in days before shooting – TheBlaze

Quote:
Seeking to counter mounting criticism, the MGM Mandalay Bay has issued a statement claiming that their staff interacted with suspected Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock at least ten times in the days prior to the deadly mass shooting, including two times on the day of the shooting itself. According to the hotel, none of the interactions with Paddock raised any red flags or gave them reason to believe that he may have been planning his attack.

The hotel has come under increasing criticism since the October 1st shooting for failing to detect that Paddock had an extensive collection of firearms and ammunition in his room that allowed him to carry out a shooting which left 58 people dead and 546 injured. Paddock fired over 1,100 during the course of his rampage, and authorities found 23 firearms, including numerous rifles, and extensive quantities of ammunition and high capacity clips in his room after the shooting.

Many have questioned how Paddock could have moved all the guns and ammunition into his room and stored them there for several days without hotel staff noticing, and have speculated that hotel staff was perhaps too deferential to a “do not disturb” sign. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, several lawsuits that have been filed against the hotel specifically allege that the hotel was negligent in failing to detect the massive weapons stockpile Paddock had in his room.

She's a cutie. Hope they find her.

Texas A&M football reporter vanishes after covering football camp | Fox News

A college football reporter in Texas who vanished early Sunday reportedly told her roommate that she was being followed by a suspicious man in a blue truck prior to her disappearance.

Courtney Roland, 29, who covers Texas A&M University football for the college sports website Rivals, was last seen leaving a Houston football camp at around 4 p.m. on Saturday in an Uber, according to Click 2 Houston.

Roland arrived home from the camp, but was last heard from early Sunday when she arrived home from a Walgreens, according to KTRK-TV.

Roland’s roommate told Click 2 Houston that she received a text from Roland at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. The text reportedly informed the roommate that Roland believed she was being followed and that she was in her driveway.

The roommate said a man followed Roland to her home in the truck, circled back around, parked behind her in her driveway and sped away when Roland exited her vehicle.

The roommate told the station that they were supposed to meet up some time on Sunday, but she never heard back.

Later Sunday, Roland’s mother received a text from her phone saying, "hello the owner of this phone Courtney. I am buying an iPad,” according to Click 2 Houston.

Brian Perroni, a former colleague of Roland, tweeted early Monday that her car, purse, wallet and phone were found in the Houston Galleria area and that Roland was last spotted at around 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

Roland’s roommate also told Click 2 Houston that Roland had been on high alert for weeks after someone broke into her car.

Several of Roland’s colleagues took to Twitter to ask for help finding her.

Police said Roland was last seen wearing a Remington hat and camouflage. Police said she drives a 2015 white Jeep Cherokee with the license plate number HZC7778.

Anyone with information on Roland’s whereabouts is urged to call Houston Police Department’s Missing Persons hotline at 832-394-1840.

I just heard on the radio that she has been found safe. Great news!

Reasonable response.

Changing the channel from a football game and dry meatloaf are two perfect examples of justifiable murder.

Arkansas man accused of killing wife after she changed channel from football game | Fox News

An Arkansas man was charged with capital murder Monday after he reportedly murdered his wife for turning off a football game.

Tony Thomas, 58, of Carlisle, admitted to investigators that he fatally stabbed his wife, Elke, on Nov. 19 after she changed the television channel from football while he was taking a smoke break outside, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

When Thomas went back inside, he asked his wife what the score of the game was, which reportedly led to a fight between the two. Thomas told police he then grabbed a knife and began stabbing her.

"He claimed he'd blacked out and when he 'came to,' he was over her with a knife in his hands," Lonoke County Sheriff's Detective Anthony Counts wrote in an affidavit.

Deputies were already responding to the scene because a woman who had been at the home flagged down someone passing by to report the stabbing.

Thomas then called the sheriff’s office and asked for a “meat wagon and police” because he had just killed his wife, Counts wrote in the affidavit.

Police found blood on the floor, walls, a table and the TV, and Counts wrote it appeared the wife’s body had been dragged through the dining room to the backyard, where it was found beneath a blanket and a tarp.

Thomas was being held in the Lonoke County Jail, the Gazette reported. Court records show his bond is set at $1 million.

A court hearing for Thomas, who was reportedly charged as a habitual offender because he had previously been convicted of felony crimes, is scheduled for Jan. 22.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Some dudes armed with axes stormed a fancy Paris hotel and made out with over 5 mil in jewels.

Armed robbers storm Ritz hotel in Paris, snagging $5.6M in jewels | Fox News

Armed thieves have stolen about $5.6 million worth of jewels during a dramatic raid at the luxurious Ritz Paris hotel, reports say.

Witnesses told the French media that five men with axes and two handguns broke through windows at a shop in the five-star hotel late Wednesday.

“The attackers then used axes to smash open reinforced glass cases containing jewelry, while filling bags,” a source told the Daily Mail.

A tourist told The Mirror that bartenders at the hotel's Hemingway Bar yelled at guests to "get down" as masked men smashed their way inside.

French police officials said three of the robbers were captured at the scene but two escaped on a motor scooter and made off with the jewels.

Authorities said no one was injured during the dramatic heist.

The luxurious Ritz is in Paris’ First Arrondissement, a district located principally on the Right Bank of the Seine River, and includes five shops and nearly 100 “showcases” that sell jewelry and luxury goods, BBC reported.

Several high-end Paris jewelry stores have been targets of dramatic robberies in recent years, including Cartier, Harry Winston and Chopard. Kim Kardashian West lost millions of dollars' worth of jewelry when she was robbed at gunpoint in a Paris apartment in October 2016.

The Ritz was an especially luxurious target. The 19th century hotel, which reopened in 2016 after an extensive four-year renovation, has housed such famous names as Ernest Hemingway and Coco Chanel. It was the last place Princess Diana stayed before her fatal car crash and hosts elite guests from around the world who prize the refined neighborhood.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Are we supposed to be sad the lead singer of the Cranberries suddenly dropped dead? I mean, if they were a good band, maybe....

Dolores O'Riordan, beloved Cranberries singer, dies suddenly at 46 | Fox News

Quote:
Singer Dolores O'Riordan, of the Irish band The Cranberries, has died at age 46.

Her publicist Lindsey Holmes told the Associated Press that O'Riordan died suddenly Monday in London, where she was recording. The cause of death wasn't immediately available.

Holmes says the singer's family is "devastated" by the shocking news.

Formed in Limerick, Ireland, The Cranberries became international stars in the 1990s with hits including "Zombie" and "Linger" that fused the alternative rock edge with poppy tunefulness.

Doesn't get more blunt than that.

Visiting North Korea? Draft a will and make funeral plans, State Department says | Fox News

Quote:
Americans can travel to North Korea, if they wish -- but it may just be a death wish, the U.S. State Department cautioned.

The State Department last week issued a stark warning to people setting out for the Hermit Kingdom, cautioning that anyone heading to the dangerous dictatorship should prepare for the possibility of not returning.

“The U.S. government is unable to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in North Korea as it does not have diplomatic or consular relations with North Korea,” the State Department published Wednesday on its website.

Those who wish to travel to North Korea must be approved for a special validation, which are handed out on “very limited circumstances.” U.S. travelers given the approval to experience Kim Jong Un’s regime should then prepare for the worst — including drafting a will and making funeral and property arrangements with family and friends.

“Draft a will and designate appropriate insurance beneficiaries and/or power of attorney; discuss a plan with loved ones regarding care/custody of children, pets, property, belongings, non-liquid assets (collections, artwork, etc.), funeral wishes, etc.,” according to the recommendations.

The agency also urged people to have a “contingency plan for emergency situations,” be updated on the State Department’s social media platform and alert systems.
