I like it, but at the same time I can't help but wish that a woman as strong, intelligent, and influential as her would wear her hair natural, rather than chemically relaxed. It would send a message to society and be empowering to young African American women.

By that standard, shouldn't me all let their beards grow to their full glory? It seems to me that shaving beards is one of the odder things we do in our culture, if we look at it objectively. Beards are a secondary sexual characteristic, and presumably women ought to find them highly alluring, like the peahen is attracted by the peacock's tail.
