Well, if your "license to smoke pot" expired yesterday and I saw you smoking pot today, I would ask you to fix it. In the meantime, here's your ticket for "smoking pot without proper registration".

Okay. If pot accidentally ended up in your pipe, I would assist you in moving it out by confiscating it as evidence.

There are a hundred examples of the difference between what is the law and what is being a fellow citizen. WWAD. That is my reference to What Would Andy Do. Yeah from Mayberry. But I remember the episode where Barney had the whole town locked up by the time Andy got back. Barney had the law on his side but he was wrong.
I just don't see how this relates at all to enforcement of marijuana prohibitions. It's not like there is any good samaritan aspect to marijuana use.

But is that for Andy to determine? No.

It is a law to tear the stamp on a pack of smokes. There are laws and then there are laws.

If you can find a scenario where a cop has law enforcement on his(her) side, but they were WRONG to arrest someone for pot possession, I'd like to hear it...

Exactly my point. We don't live in a perfect world so why should we act as if we do? Why should we allow our officers to make these random decisions about what makes it to prosecution and what doesn't.

But my question was if you were a cop. Not what should cops do in general. I would agree that the law has to be maintained. I was saying if you were a cop. And given the public view of pot smoking in general. Are you telling me. That in every case you would make an arrest. Really. Even if it were your sister?

Especially if it were my sister. No one is above the law.

If you aren't breaking the law you have nothing to worry about. If you are then expect to be notified and fined or arrested.
