Clearly it has been co-opted, indeed if it was ever independent, by the George Soros' of the world.

Too bad they couldn't stop raping, killing, theiving, defecating, and breaking things in their stupid tent cities.

I agree, their movement has been co-opted. Out of curiosity,I attended two Occupy rallies. I found most of the people there to be orderly, friendly but lacking guidance and direction and ripe for infiltration! There was little to no structure, just an open mic where people vented their frustrations. When they were told to vacate the park they did so but that was a year ago when they were full of naivety, hope and passion.

I'm not sure it was co-opted late. Those of us wicked enough to listen to the dreaded Glenn Beck heard assorted commie types - Frances Fox Piven, Van Jones, this admitted commie guy from SEIU, and two commie professors on a conference call with students organizing something like Occupy a year before Occupy hit the streets. The organization that's credited for starting it has Soros connections. The original guys like Piven, the SEIU guy, and the professors wanted anarchistic protests of the sort we were seeing in Europe at the time. So what have we got now? A co-opted protest, or exactly what was planned?

The occupy movement never was as big as what they had planned, but I'm not sure that means it was co-opted.

Here's another thing. I don't think this is over. These types have always been around. They might change their banner from time to time, but they're not going anywhere. The looky-loos, and the easily persuaded might be gone for now though.

I agree the Occupy phase is over but the anarchist core will reemerge during the political conventions. The vote for nobody crowd will do their best to make the conventions bloody affairs. It is time to recognize Occupy as a failure. They utterly failed to translate their squatters camps into any kind of political movement. Seen any Occupy endorsed candidates?

That's the way I see it...

They're the current "hippy" movement"...They might be shoved to the side, but won't outright disappear...

The failure of the Occupy movement will be used as justification for violence. We tried the peaceful way and were ignored so violence is the only option left.

There's that projecting again. You're gonna have to work on that ya know?

Projecting what? Three years of non-violent rallies in cleaned venues? Not likely.

You know what? I have a pet peeve. I have no objection to Progs stealing terms from the justified observations that have destroyed them coming from the other side, but for God's sakes learn what the terms actually mean before you try to appropriate them. Projecting does not mean something you'd like the other side to be guilty of too. A straw man argument is not just a thing you accuse the other side of when you've run out of arguments. Believe it or not the term has an actual meaning. And when you call "Bullsh*t", it should actually be, you know...Bullsh*t, otherwise the accusation only fits the accuser, which by the way, as long as I'm educating is (more or less) projection.
