Bring back some decent regulation with actual teeth, like adequate funding and manpower AND a penalty phase, and these people will not be marching in your streets. Allow the corporate world to continue to water down world governments' regulations and safety measures and as S King said in his article this is nothing compared to next year.

If these are protests he can't stop them. They are constitutionally protected. The violence if there ever was any is being handled by the locals.
I'd personally like to see some shut downs of services people depend on till people get a living wage in this country even with corporate profit improvement of the last 30 years. We went down they went up. Whats with that?
If Enron could cause rolling black outs and desperate people trying to get out of elevators and keep cool in the broiling heat till bribe money was paid and stocks went through the roof for some ass hole who probably never held a shovel in his life, why shouldn't the little guy get some?

Something creative and meaningful but not dangerous. I witnessed a bridge tender's strike in Miami once at rush hour, that was to the point. But anything that disrupts but not over the top harmful. A point has to be made. Personally I like the idea of finding out where the congressmen go for lunch and tying up traffic.

The Enron guy got most energy markets deregulated in the 80s and then liked to have killed California. No we don't have enough and they also took out bank regs which the Dodd bill is supposed to fix. We'll see.

CHICAGO — Three NATO summit activists arrested on terrorism charges were plotting an attack on President Barack Obama's campaign headquarters in Chicago, prosecutors said Saturday.

"The individuals we charged in this investigation are not peaceful protesters. They are domestic terrorists," state attorney Anita Alvarez told reporters.

"Some of the proposed targets were the campaign headquarters of President Barack Obama and the home of mayor Rahm Emanuel."

Lawyers for the three men arrested in a raid Wednesday night insist that they are innocent and were instead the target of a police "setup" aimed at discrediting the protest movement.

But prosecutors and police said they had plenty of evidence that the "self-proclaimed anarchists" were building Molotov cocktails and planned to wreak havoc during the NATO summit.

They also spoke extensively of plans to attack four police stations -- with one of the men allegedly saying "have you ever seen a cop on fire?" about the plot, Alvarez said.

Fears that demonstrations could turn violent have put Chicago on edge, with some downtown businesses telling office workers to ditch their suits and ties and dress down to avoid being hassled or targeted on the streets.
