Don't look now but support for Medicare for all is slipping. According to an 11/26/19 poll from Quinnipiac.

Quote:
Medicare for All has grown increasingly unpopular among all American voters, as 36 percent say it is a good idea and 52 percent say it is a bad idea. In a March 26, 2019 poll, 43 percent said good idea, while 45 percent said bad idea. The highest support came in an August 3, 2017 poll when voters said it was a good idea 51 - 38 percent.
Since August and the closer examination of Medicare for all costs and impacts on private insurance the fantasy of something for nothing has been exposed. Will the Democrat candidates change their approach?

I don't think they will change their approach.

They know the resistance will believe that Warrens 2 cent tax increase on billionaires will be plenty for funding Medicare for all.

as long as Joe Scarborough tells them to; you bet.
and never pointing out how much more costly this illegitimate Afghan war has been is a plus for the propagandists.

Just how does any of this amount to a rebuttal of the point that support for Medicare for all is slipping?

Sounds like you're OK with MSNBC propaganda
but if med for all support is slipping then ...shhh... don't tell Sanders. He's ahead and second depending on the day and the poll.

I am certainly "OK" with the truth--regardless of its source. (And occasionally, MSNBC does manage to stumble upon it.)

And Bernie Sanders is, of course, playing to his left-wing base, within the Democratic Party.

Medicare for all does, indeed, enjoy majority support--but it is a tiny majority--with 51 percent in favor of it, and 47 percent opposed to it, according to the Kaiser Foundation's recent poll (as referenced by the quite liberal Slate magazine): https://slate.com/business/2019/10/m...s-popular.html

And the support for it appears to be continually slipping.

I think the progressive vote is just split
Only two candidates took med for all seriously and only sanders has a cohesive plan
btw when people actually hear Bernie un clipped they get that it is cheaper by far than what we pay now.

No, people are starting to get a closer look at Bernie's plan which would mean banning private health insurance, setting reimbursement rates to disastrously low levels and bureaucrats rationing care. It's a bad deal all way round.

One of the ways the horrible Federal spending bill made it through Congress was to include repeals of specialty taxes passed as part of Obamacare. The medical device tax repeal appealed to Republicans. Doing away with the Cadillac tax appealed to Democrats. Bernie's massive new taxes to fund Medicare for all appeal to neither side in Congress.

Democrats won't change their approach, simply because they have nothing else.
