Public schools aren't socialism. Calling them such is a lie and doesn't
Under that logic so is the Interstate Highway system.

That socialist governments have systematically murdered millions of their own citizens has everything to do with government run health care. Once it is the government's prerogative to deny a service, any service for any reason, they can and historically, they will.

China killed of 40,000,000 just because they could not afford to house and fed them. The citizens involved had no choice in the matter. Despite Obama-care controls, we still have choices in America about our medical care. Waiting six weeks to see a doctor about a tumor and then six more to be referred to and oncologist who may be able to operate in a month or so, should not be one of them.

That may be fine for Canadians and the Brits but we can and have done better.

Whether the subject is healthcare or anything else, I cannot think of a single instance in which we differ from our European friends--no, not even one--in which I would consider the latter to be preferable to our own system.

It is evident that you consider healthcare to be such a thing.

Is there anything else, in which you would consider Europe to have the upper hand?

Again: Try as hard as I might, I really cannot think of anything...

I consider the source and then wear it as a badge of honor knowing that I am on the correct side of the argument.

If it weren't for the smart parents of most students, the students would not learn anything in school. Those institutions no longer teach anything but how to sit in the classroom, insult the teachers, and hide under desks during a lockdown drill. But Mao Shi-t Dung did kill millions of people, yes.

I can't wait to see how Biden will cure cancer if he wins. Oh, wait a minute. That is Biden's way of saying he doesn't stand a snowflake fart's chance in Hell of winning.

One thing I don't understand: why would there be a tax on the worker's wage when his employer pays for the health care insurance for him?

https://www.counterpunch.org/2019/09...ums-and-taxes/

At least I wish the employer would pay for my HCI through reducing a bit of my wage into my health care insurance account. Of course, I'm naive in the aspect that how to struggle with the capitalist.

After careful rereading of Franc's post, I don't believe he said they did.

OCare was also touted as being the healthcare money saver. Which assumes that government programs save money. $2500/ family was the number.

However, the first major expenditure by OCare was the website. Which cost more than the former two highest cost web sites combined.

The article puts forth the false premise that employer costs for health insurance are the same as the taxes necessary to fund Medicare for all, socialized medicine. Currently employer paid health insurance premiums are not taxed as a benefit to employees and employers can deduct the cost as a business expense. Everyone wins but since the Federal government doesn't get tax revenue from it many politicians and pundits like the author of the article hate it.

Medicare for all and similar proposals would replace employer provided health insurance with healthcare rationed by Federal bureaucrats and funded by new or increased taxes on employer and employee alike. By artificially setting payment levels to rates too low for many providers to survive Medicare for all proponents make idiotic claims it is going to save money while providing an all you can eat buffet of medical care while the employer will pass their savings from not having to pay health insurance premiums on to employees wages.

Obamacare has a provision imposing an outrageous 40% tax on employer provided health care insurance plans deemed too generous by the law. The so-called architect of the law, Johnathan Gruber, boasted about the Obama administration's cleverness in using this tax to fund Obamacare. He claimed to have shared his observation of the American people's stupidity with senior members of the administration including President Obama. But the Cadillac tax provision has proven to be so politically toxic it has been delayed from implementation for years.
