Obamacare Isn't Affordable....

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/o...190245971.html

Quote:

The Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, has helped about 20 million Americans gain health insurance coverage, and lowered costs for others. But the law came with glitches that have caused huge cost increases for a subset of the insured public that numbers perhaps 1 million Americans. Congress could tweak the law to help those being pinched by it. But that’s not on the agenda in the Republican-controlled Congress or President Trump’s White House, where the only options seem to be an outright repeal of the law or a major rollback. If the GOP repeal bills fail, which seems likely, Trump has said bluntly, “we’ll let Obamacare fail.”
Bold by me.

I was on Medical Mutual of Ohio for years.
Then where I work switched to UnitedHealthcare because it was "better"
NOT!
Without going in to figures, there was quite a dramatic jump in costs.

You haven't figured it out yet, I guess. It doesn't matter which side of the political fence the government is on, they couldn't find their collective asses with both hands, especially when it comes to healthcare. Government has no place in it, period.

Trumps BS goes in the same place Obama's BS went... in the ignore column. The American people aren't going to win on this subject, and that is a damn shame.

I've been pinched also under the PPACA, but I limit my anger to the so called "representatives' who voted for something they didn't read, and permitted it to become law.

IMO, any law, and I mean any law, that is passed in this country should be all inclusive with no exceptions, to include the President and 'representatives'.

So if some one else has a 600K heart attack and I am one of the lucky ones to have to pay for it you mean. :mad

You make light of my situation, may you have a situation of your own. Karma bud, karma. I wish the same for you. :devil

Grandfathered medical plans, as long as they met the minimal requirements, retained better premiums(as a comparative) than switching to new plan. Even though they review loss runs (as with any insurance) they don't see overall patterns and can't judge if they will assume forthcoming major events without having received compensating premiums. Grandfathered medical plans have the details, and can judge better if they are going to carry major losses, and adjust accordingly.

Gee, let's all pretend there was no such thing as affordable medical insurance for catastrophic medical conditions before Obamacare reforms prohibited it.:rolls Let's play the stupid game where you are not covered with insurance unless you buy an Obamacare policy chalk full of coverage you don't want or need but have to pay for anyway. Oh, and giving coverage to "children" up to age 26, that doesn't cost anything either.:rolls
