Fox News Doesn’t Care If Millions Lose Health Insurance Since ‘We’re All Going to Die’

At least, that’s the rationale employed in an argument on Fox News on Wednesday. After airing statements from Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, both warning the passage of the divisive bill could result in thousands of deaths across the nation, the far-right network’s Lisa Kennedy Montgomery countered the left with her own attention-grabbing one-liner.

“You know what the crazy thing is?” Montgomery said to her fellow hosts, chuckling after each soundbite from the Democrats. “We’re all gonna die. And they can’t predict—there, there’s no way, unless they’re absolutely psychic and have a party line to heaven, they don’t know who is going to die, or when, or how many people!”

BZZZZT WRONG

Multiple studies over the course of decades have consistently reflected a decrease in deaths from treatable diseases when there is increased access to coverage. A New England Journal of Medicine report states “the largest decreases [in death rates] were for deaths from ‘health care amenable’ conditions such as heart disease, infections and cancer, which are more plausibly affected by access to medical care.”

“Beginning with the Institute of Medicine’s 2002 report ‘Care Without Coverage,’ some analyses have suggested that lack of insurance causes tens of thousands of deaths each year in the United States,” the journal wrote in its report, “Health Insurance Coverage and Health—What the Recent Evidence Tells Us.”

This is not a statement of fact but by it's own words, as "suggestion"

As there are no facts presented to support the assertion, how does it make the comments in an interview, the presentation of "Fake News?"

Fake News is the creation of as tory based on little or no evidence that the story is true. CNN has even admitted they did that very thing with the "Russian Connection" A headline they had bannered daily for over 8 months. So one must ask, what metric have you employed to make your assertions?

From the Yahoo "news" article.

Quote:
Several quasi experimental studies using population-level data and longer follow-up offer more precise estimates of coverage’s effect on mortality,” it continues. “One study compared three states implementing large Medicaid expansions in the early 2000s to neighboring states that didn’t expand Medicaid, finding a significant 6 percent decrease in mortality over five years of follow-up.”
Some analysis studies, quasi experimental, with 5 year unspecified follow up suggest lower mortality maybe, if we discard the cardinal rule that correlation doesn’t mean causation. Yet, through the magic of political activism masquerading as journalism the confirmation bias driven conclusion is that these are hard numbers. Thus, anyone who challenges the shoddy excuse for science is a denier or worse.

It I not the same as "racist" but is equally employed reactively whenever one doesn't have an intelligent answer when their assertions are debunked.

Here's an example of what's wrong with the OP.

It makes an assertion out of what is, or should be, a question raised by a correlative causality association. Nothing wrong with that but they aren't the same as conclusive facts.

There are studies that indicate the Obamacare, and universal healthcare programs in general, increase opioid addictions and subsequent lethality.

Obamacare program may be linked to ER opioid prescriptions

And at theVA;

This doesn't prove the case against Obamacare but it does raise the question about opioid prescription abuse in government health care programs.

And if you want to get into a serious discussion about the war on drugs, let's talk about my new grand daughter

And yes, I can say the same about you, and how you address a thread.
