Aw live and lean is one great experience. My best wishes as any cop can be either cool or a pain like the rest of society. Most are on the cool side just doing the job.

dga and all others. To support my above post I present this. Makes me sick.
I think his rights were violated and the Feds need to take over this case. http://www.opednews.com/maxwrite/lin...p?linkid=60331 Death Squad in Delaware: The Case of the Murdered Marine He survived Iraq, only to suffer Death By Government in the "Land of the Free": Sgt. Derek J. Hale, USMC, ret. ~ RIP Delaware was the first state to ratify the U.S. Constitution. It may be the first state to be afflicted with a fully operational death squad – unless a civil lawsuit filed on Friday against the murders of Derek J. Hale results in criminal charges and a complete lustration (in the Eastern European sense of the term) of Delaware's law enforcement establishment. Hale, a retired Marine Sergeant who served two tours in Iraq and was decorated before his combat-related medical discharge in January 2006, was murdered by a heavily armed 8–12-member undercover police team in Wilmington, Delaware last November 6. He had come to Wilmington from his home in Manassas, Virginia to participate in a Toys for Tots event. Derek was house-sitting for a friend on the day he was murdered. Sandra Lopez, the ex-wife of Derek's friend, arrived with an 11-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter just shortly before the police showed up. After helping Sandra and her children remove some of their personal belongings, Derek was sitting placidly on the front step, clad in jeans and a hooded sweatshirt, when an unmarked police car and a blacked-out SUV arrived and disgorged their murderous cargo. Unknown to Derek, he had been under police surveillance as part of a ginned-up investigation into the Pagan Motorcycle Club, which he had joined several months before; the Pagans sponsored the “Toys for Tots Run” that had brought Derek to Delaware. As with any biker club, the Pagans probably included some disreputable people in their ranks. Derek was emphatically not one of them. |

My sister works in Manassas (police that participated in the "cover up"), and lives in Fairfax. It's beautiful there, but I for one am more comfortable with police in my neck of the woods. My experience with police officers has been very limited (mostly traffic stops on my hubby, as I've never gotten a ticket), but all negative, with the exception of the ones in my town. My belief is that it takes a certain kind to pursue this career, and the God complex comes with the territory. I have two cousins who are police officers (one is NYPD), and I'm sure they're huge bullies when it comes to throwing their weight around, ![]() |

I wasn't trying to cause fear. But the story of a vet with two tours and a medical dischage should have been part of the data the police in this special squad had info on. Plus he was a member for 6 months. The Pagans are not a real bunch of nice guys from what I have seen on the Gangland series on the History Channel. And have been infiltrated before. So this isn'tproper and they knew it.
Quote: In addition to his honorable military service (albeit in a consummately dishonorable war), Derek's personal background was antiseptically clean. He had a concealed carry permit in Virginia, which would not have been issued to him if he'd been convicted of a felony, a narcotics or domestic violence charge, or had any record of substance abuse or mental illness. On the day he was killed, Derek had been under both physical and electronic (and, according to the civil complaint, illegal) surveillance. Police personnel who observed him knew that his behavior was completely innocuous. And despite the fact that he had done nothing to warrant such treatment, he was considered an "un-indicted co-conspirator" in a purported narcotics ring run by the Pagans. End quote I am sure he had come to learn this. But the police should have known this also. I defend our local police here in Topeka as our on line paper has a place to comment. Seems many prefer to put them down. My inner actions with them were postive the one time I needed to report my fraud case, they csame to th ehouse so I didn't have to go downtown. I have one living up the street from me about 5 houses. We have spoken. And he and his family seem to be nice people I do know that years ago they did act to harsh when the gangs came into town. They seemed to calm down some. During the mid 80's But this story just upset me deeply. Plus the fact of the date being 2006. So I am searching for more info on it. And dga I believe most citzens have the same results as we have had. And in large cities I am sure they need to be on the ball but some do over react as soldiers do in combat. I understand that. But this is way above over reaction. Last edited by mlurp; 05-28-2008 at 03:53 PM. |
