I don't get it. I am a Dem and I don't want anyone who is here illegally to get free health care. I don't know anyone who would. Now if a person illegal or not shows up seriously in need of medical assistance at an ER then they should get treated. Because its the humane thing to do. But who is trying to insure illegal aliens? You may be able to twist something to sound that way. But where is the support for such a thing? Is your goal to create issues to kill health care legislation?

Lets stop trying to justify Wilson's inappropriate behavior shall we.

Mikeyy, I could really give a rats patoot what you or anyone else wants on this board, none of you are elected congressional democrats are you? The congressional leadership of the democratic party know what will happen if they have no check in place for illegals, you know it and I know it, to play dumb that this is just some innocent oversight defies all logic.

I will add my voice to those who say it was wrong for Rep. Wilson to dishonor the office of the President of the United States. It was, however eqally wrong for the President to lie or mislead the congress and the American people about much of the content of the bills so far proposed and their intentions.

Do you have any specific item that you want to substantiate that claim with?

For example, do you believe that Wilson's assessment of the President's statement (regarding illegal immigrants getting legal coverage under this plan) is actually valid?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
The way Congressional Republicans are acting is inflaming the already inflamed base, but converting noone.
I think in a lot of ways, it divides the Republican base, separating those who are not Palin fans and who are not easily propagandized...

For example on the damage they do to themselves...

I still don't see what you think he lied about? He does not want to give insurance to illegal aliens. Where is the real issue? Besides we are talking about a comprehensive fundamental change in the health care in the U.S. And some people try to twist a minor portion of an idea to make an issue to kill any change. Where does the POTUS say he wants to give illegal aliens free health insurance? The fact is it's not true. And it's only repeated and misrepresented by people who fundamentally don't want any change in our health care delivery system.

If you believe that it is the intention of the admin to not provide healthcare to the illegal immigrant masses and not provide abortion services then I not sure what planet you live on.

I fully understand the concept that these people are pushing with reguards to the "illegals", it is "compassion" for those that are without. Whom is more "without"? Do you really believe that it is their intention to not provide services to a poor illegal immigrant with some sort of cronic ailment? Are we going to deport them? How, if we can not ask about immigration status when arresting someone, can we then inquire about their status at a health clinic?

Do you really believe that abortion will not be a covered procedure?

How can we have achieve a greater base of coverage without some sort of rationing? The math is as plain as day. There is only so much money currently available in the healthcare system. Someone has to direct where and how that money will be spent. Right now that takes place on a micro level but I control where my ammount is sent. I do not want a government worker to tell me where I can send my money and on what.

So call it a lie or a little bit of misdirection but it was not the truth.
