Cheney warns of new attacks - John F. Harris and Mike Allen and Jim VandeHei - Politico.com
This guy is the worst fear monger since McCarthy. We all know there is a threat. The problem with Cheney is that he is so arrogant he believes he alone holds the answers to our survival. What a jerk. There are men and woman all over the world working hard to help up stay protected. As much as you can be in a free society. Cheney will never realize that the policies of their administration hurt us more then Al Queda. Al Queda struck us. They killed people in a terrible attack. But it created sympathy and support for the U.S. from around the world. Bush had huge ratings. It was the policies and arrogant statements from Cheney and Bush that turned the whole thing upside down. After years of mismanagement we were left less respected, There are actually a huge increase in antiAmerican youth groups in places like Russia. Lets not even get in to their economic policies. BTW Cheney was in office 8 months before 9-11. So they didn't protect us when they were in charge. I don't blame them because you can't know whats on every bad guys mind. And if it happens under Obama it will be a bad thing as well. And maybe people will say mistakes were made. I don't know. But Cheney is a dick for doing this. AI am sure that Obama and all the people he has working are looking at intel every day. Cheney should crawl in to a undisclosed location and hope and pray he isn't indicted for something. Freakin snake.

"Former Vice President Dick Cheney warned that there is a “high probability” that terrorists will attempt a catastrophic nuclear or biological attack in coming years, and said he fears the Obama administration’s policies will make it more likely the attempt will succeed." But many of the top Democratic legal and national security players have long viewed Cheney as a man who became unhinged by his fears, responsible for major misjudgments in Iraq and Afghanistan, willing to bend or break legal precedents and constitutional principles to advance his aims. Polls show he is one of the most unpopular people in national life. In the interview, Cheney revealed no doubts about his own course—and many about the new administration’s. Pompous, arrogant, self-righteous... I guess you can relate, ![]() |

So, if we do get attacked, on Obama's watch, and we are to hold Obama responsible for it, then by the same standard, we can hold Bush responsible for 9/11? Is that what Cheney is saying?
That dude is one pompous a-hole. ![]() I will continue to hold the perpetraitors responsible. I'm just funny that way. ![]() |

Personally, I think that Cheney is probably right, we most likely will see at least one fairly large attack on this country. The terrorists are going to want to know what the new admin will do in the event of an attack. If they treat like a crime, you can almost guarantee that you'll see more, if they treat it as an act of war and respond accordingly, you won't see follow-up attacks.

Yup. I hope Cheney's wrong but he could be right. But we can hardly blame the new administration for it any more than we can blame the old administration for 9/11.
The best we can do is stay alert and show no quarter. No one can stop lightening from striking. One can argue that our militaristic approach might have been instrumental in the on-going attacks. Using the approach of throwing gasoline on a fire thus creating newer generations of American hating terrorists. One can argue that the legal approach is a wussy-foot approach that the terrorists will intrepret as weakness thus spawning even more attacks. Myself, I haven't got a clue. I suppose there is truth to both viewpoints. But when I look over at the wizard pulling the knobs behind the curtain, I see arms dealers, military contractors, and others dealers in death, very glad to get the business. |
