1.99.999% of people who get codiv do not die from it.So they were not facing death by going to work. Those who did die form covid already had some other health issues that were exacerbated by covid.

2.Food production and processing is considered essential. Essential businesses remained open during the pandemic. Its why grocery stores,home improvement stores, places that facilitate truckers,food production/processing, delivery services , and many other places remained opened last year.
