Typical of Trump, his mob was a bunch of disorganized clowns. But, that doesn't excuse anything they did or that Trump did in inciting them to attack Congress.

(And in response to your mention of impeachment and the preceding comment, I'd simply note that investigating and impeaching Trump wasn't an attempt to overturn the 2016 election. Overturning the 2016 election would have made Hillary president. Conviction in the Senate in Trump's impeachment trial would have made Mike Pence president.)
