Tsai warns of 'catastrophic consequences' if Taiwan falls

"Taiwan lives under the constant threat of invasion by China, which views the self-ruled democratic island as its territory to be re-taken one day, by force if necessary.

President Xi Jinping has described the seizure of Taiwan as "inevitable" and Beijing has ramped up military, diplomatic and economic pressure since Tsai's 2016 election, as she views the island as "already independent" and not part of a "one China".

Nearly 150 Chinese warplanes had breached Taiwan's ADIZ since Friday when Beijing marked its National Day with its then-biggest aerial show of force, buzzing the island with 38 planes.

Tsai warned a failure to defend Taiwan would be "catastrophic" for both the island and the wider region in an article she wrote for Foreign Affairs published on Tuesday."

I see multiple reasons we probably won't get involved between China and Taiwan.

1. The left probably view the Taiwanese as dirty traitors to China much like they view southerners who seceded from the US during the civil war. So they will claim it was right for China to take Taiwan.

2.The politicians on both sides of the isle who lick the testicles of big business will continue to want China to make our stuff. So at most they will issue a "how dare you" phony sanction and say China learned their lesson and that we will be doomed if big business is not allowed to continue exploiting Chinese labor for dirt cheap prices.

3.Many in the US including myself wish the US would butt out and stop being the police men of the world. Because even if we do win we will have wasted thousands and maybe even millions of our own lives, and trillions of dollars to rebuild them instead of that money going to us and then just fucken leave with China taking over Taiwan like they originally wanted.

4.Going to war against China would be ****en nuts. Thanks to traitors in office selling out our jobs to China the Chinese now have the resources to modernize their military. Thanks to China's 1.4 billion plus population they have excessive man power to spare to fight us.Even if we do have better military technology it isn't advance enough to make China's population a non factor.

Yeah China owns Taiwan. We have been in denial about that since the agreement happened years ago. At any rate we were all doing fine until Trump pushed the delicate envelope and disrupted a balance. So live with that and the fact Taiwan will be occupied by the country that owns them.

Just like England owns America, eh? I'll tell you what. Why don't you lay off Trump, and place the blame on the senile c**ks**k*r in the White House, the one who cannot even figure how to wipe his ass without a teleprompter?
