The fact of the matter is that programmers at Facebook, Twitter, et. all, have programs that execute and search out key words and phrases from posts, group names, titles etc. with the intention on setting them aside for further scrutiny. At that point a human would need to examine these posts, tweets or whatever the content is to make a final determination as to the level at which said post or tweet may violate whatever standards they wish to impose.

In the case of the algorithm, program or the human that makes the final determination, someone had to determine what constitutes a post or tweet being flagged or censored. In other words, they can blame an algorithm all they want, but in the end SOMEONE wrote that algorithm or program to do exactly what it is doing and in the manner in which the organization (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) wanted it developed. It's a disingenuous argument.
The algorithm is, indeed, written by a human; so it ought not ever be used as a mere excuse for bad behavior.

I am just pointing out that those algorithms (from what I am told) are written to flag words that conservatives typically use--but not words that liberals typically use.

I could be mistaken. But that is what I have heard, anyway.

Well again, an algorithm is simply a "road map". It by itself does nothing. It is used by the programmer to write the code that is actually executed on the server to do the actual work.

If the people using the term algorithm wanted to be technically correct, they would say "The programs that are being run to censor content, ....". You cannot execute an algorithm.
