SC Governor Blocks Biden Administration From Bringing Unaccompanied Kids From Border

I'd like to see more states stand up against overreach by the federal government. Bringing in all these illegals will hurt our citizens and economy, and that is the goal of the puppet masters behind Biden, who has to be one of the worst presidents ever, if not the actual worst one.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster issued an executive order on Monday that prohibits the federal government from bringing unaccompanied children from the U.S.-Mexico border to South Carolina.

McMaster issued the executive order in response to inquiries from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration of Children and Families about if the state had resources to place unaccompanied children in the state’s foster care facilities and group homes.

Michael Leach, the head of the South Carolina Department of Social Services, told McMaster about the federal government’s inquiries about taking children from the border and placing them in South Carolina’s foster care and group homes, according to a letter (pdf) dated on April 8.

“South Carolina’s children must always be given first priority for placement into foster care and the State’s strained resources must be directed to addressing the needs of its children,” McMaster stated.

He added: “Allowing the federal government to place an unlimited number of unaccompanied migrant children into our state’s child welfare system for an unspecified length of time is an unacceptable proposition. We’ve been down this road with the federal government before and the state usually ends up ‘on the hook.’”

The governor of Iowa is also refusing to accept all of these children. Good!

Late last week, Republican Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds “said she has rejected a federal request to accept migrant children into the state, saying the need to find homes for them ‘is the president’s problem,'” per The Associated Press.

“This is not our problem,” Reynolds said, adding that the state does not have any temporary facilities to lend to the Department of Housing and Human Services. “This is the president’s problem. He’s the one that has opened the border, and he needs to be responsible for this and he needs to stop it.”

Iowa’s own Department of Human Services, it seems, made the decision, based on whether the state was equipped to respond to both local and federal needs amid a significant economic downturn and the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This is due to limited resources and administrative concerns. We have an obligation to take care of our children first and absent the resources or a clear and comprehensive plan for federal support, we were unable to accommodate the request,” Iowa’s director of Human Services said in a statement to the White House. “We acknowledge this is an incredibly saddening and difficult situation.”

I totally agree with the sentiment.They should build facilities along the border to house them.

That said I don't think Biden plans on returning these kids back to their homes and that may not work out in South Carolina's favor in ten years. The reason Trump wanted to add the citizenship question to the census was so that only citizens would be used to apportion representation but the anti-American illegal alien testicle lickers in office stopped him. This is probably why states like Commie-fornia have sanctuary laws. Illegals give them extra representation without actually having a larger voting population put them in power at the federal level.

Build those facilities in the southern border of Mexico. Mexico can pay for them with their cartel money.
