Default Barack Obama criticizes 'Defund the Police' slogan but faces backlash

He is right. You go around telling people you want to defund the police you sound bat**** crazy and only bat**** crazy people will vote for you. But in regard to what Obama said. That ship done sailed. People will look at his comments as trying to downplay the fact that these people really want to defund the police or that he is another one of these left wing loonies trying to hide the fact that they really don't want to defund the police.

Barack Obama chastised Democratic political candidates for using “snappy” slogans like “defund the police” that he argued could turn voters away, in an interview released this week.

“You lost a big audience the minute you say it, which makes it a lot less likely that you’re actually going to get the changes you want done,” the former president told show host Peter Hamby in an interview with Good Luck America, a Snapchat political show.

One might wonder--reasonably enough, I think--if the former President really believes that there is no better reason to eschew the advice that we should "defund the police," than its political consequences.

Notice how Obama doesn't say he has a problem with defunding the police...

His problem is with how it's being PRESENTED...

He's doing exactly what I've been saying for quite awhile...Democrats WANT what the far-left wants, but want to do it stealthily so as to not disrupt society as a whole when they know their true intentions...

...just like increasing the water little by little so the frog doesn't notice until it's too late...

It does seem that his beef with the slogan is that the rest of the country will look at them as bat **** crazy for saying defund the police not because saying defund the police is actually bat**** crazy. If he would have came out and said "defund the police is crazy, we need to quit agreeing to union contracts that make it difficult to fire problem officers"Then it wouldn't look like he is chastising the left for letting the cat out of the bag.

Behar interjected that O'Rourke simply should have kept his ambitious plans for gun control to himself.

"If you are going to take people's guns away, wait until you get elected and then take the guns away!" she insisted. "Don't tell them ahead of time!"

The left is always walking that tightrope. Trying to gain more loonies, while trying not to let their loony ideas sink in to those that are not QUITE as loony.
