Default Andrew Gillum found in Miami Beach hotel room with suspected drugs, police say

Andrew Gillum, who in 2018 came within 34,000 votes of becoming Florida’s governor, was discovered by police at a South Beach hotel early Friday morning in a room with bags of possible crystal meth and in the company of a man who appeared to have overdosed on drugs, according to a Miami Beach police report.

Police say they were called to the Mondrian South Beach early Friday morning and found paramedics treating Travis Dyson, a 30-year-old Miami man, for an apparent heart attack. They say two other men were in the room: Aldo Mejias and Gillum.

Police say Gillum, who was not arrested, was too intoxicated to answer questions. An offense incident report says that officers found three clear plastic baggies of suspected crystal meth on the bed and floor.

Gillum, a former Tallahassee mayor and a Democrat, issued a statement Friday afternoon in which he denied using drugs.

Marion Berry part 2.
If Democrats were confident their nominee actually received more than 80 million votes they wouldn't have more troops occupying Washington, DC than Lincoln had defending the city during the Civil War. Not Joe Biden, Kim Jung Biden.

Bail bondsman, former East Haven mayoral candidate “Big Steve” Tracey arrested on drug charges

Police say the investigation proceeded beyond a simple traffic stop when they located over 200 oxycodone pills.
Tracey was arrested and charged with:
Failure to give proper turn signal
Possession of a controlled substance
Illegally obtaining drugs

Scott Silverthorne is out of jail and ready to tell his story.
From the moment Mayor Scott Silverthorne began planning the meth-fueled sex party, something seemed off.
It all started, according to the Fairfax County Police Department’s investigative report, on July 28, 2016. ....

Ex-Port Richey mayor Dale Massad used crack cocaine and meth, new records show
PORT RICHEY FL — The mayor of this small coastal city spent years smoking crack cocaine on a nightly basis and used methamphetamine, too, according to court records obtained by the Tampa Bay Times.
Dale Massad paid runners to bring him illegal drugs, the records show, and acted as the personal doctor for his pals, suturing their injuries on his kitchen table — all while he held elected office.
Those records also reveal what launched the investigation that led to Massad's arrest on Feb. 21 and his subsequent resignation as mayor:

Virginia Mayor Accused of Trading Meth for Sex, Is Arrested After Dating Website Sting
Police allege Mayor Richard Scott Silverthorne provided men with methamphetamine in exchange for casual sex
A Virginia mayor who moonlights as a substitute teacher has been accused of trading methamphetamine for sex, PEOPLE confirms.
Fairfax Mayor Richard Scott Silverthorne, 50, was arrested Thursday after meeting with undercover detectives at a hotel, according to a statement from county police. Police said their sting involved a dating website profile created by police and tailored to Silverthorne’s interests; and their investigation was sparked by a single anonymous tip.
“Based on information obtained during the investigation, a suspect [Silverthorne] was identified who was allegedly distributing methamphetamine through a website used to arrange for casual sexual encounters between men,” according to the police statement.

Blow by Blow: 10 Politicians Linked to Cocaine
Congressman Trey Radel isn’t the first politician to make headlines from white lines.

Freshman Congressman Trey Radel (R-Florida) became the first sitting U.S. representative to be convicted for a cocaine offense this week. The 37-year-old Radel pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession charges, following from his attempt to score about 3.5 grams of coke for $250 from an undercover cop in late October. (Radel had recently voted with Republican colleagues to drug-test food stamp recipients – an irony not lost on minority leader Nancy Pelosi, who remarked, “It’s like, what!?“) Radel, blamed his “extremely irresponsible choice” on “the disease of alcoholism.” The first-time offender was sentenced to one year of probation.

Radel is far from the first politician to be linked to the drug — and certainly not the highest ranking. Here, a few lines about nine other politicians and their (alleged) histories with cocaine.

President Barack Obama
While more famous for his youthful marijuana exploits as a member of the “Choom Gang,” the president in his memoir Dreams from My Father obliquely admitted that he had a taste for coke too. The president writes about his drug use in the context of self-medicating to deal with the pain of an absent father: “Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it.”
Former New York Governor David Paterson
The man who took over the governor’s mansion from Eliot Spitzer following a prostitution scandal began his administration by frankly discussing with a TV interviewer his tame-by-comparison experience with cocaine: “You used cocaine, governor?” asked the reporter. Paterson’s reply: “I’d say I was 22 or 23, I tried it a couple of times, yes.”
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford
Earlier this month, the tragicomic mayor of Canada’s biggest city blamed his exploits smoking crack cocaine on a “drunken stupor,” adding recently: “I made mistakes, I drank too much, I smoked some crack sometime. What can I say?”

Alleged Users
Former President George W. Bush
Allegations of youthful cocaine use dogged Bush throughout his political career. He always stopped short of definitively denying his use, preferring dodges like: “When I was young and irresponsible, I was young and irresponsible.”....

at least Gillum never took office.

Sorry to correct you but he was the elected mayor of Tallahassee Florida. But he was NOT elected Gov of Florida, which may have been your point.

He was caught in a motel room with a male gay escort.

Man busted with Andrew Gillum in hotel room with meth was gay escort

Obama tried hard to get this Gillum elected and George Soros poured millions into the State of Florida to get him elected from what I've heard.

I feel sorry for Gillum's poor wife and kids.

Democrats always back the wrong horse.
