Thumbs up Breaking: Northamís Gun Ban Bill Rejected By Senate Committee

I know a lot of Virginians are heaving sighs of relief. I'm surprised that Democrats voted against the ban, but perhaps they are looking to the next election cycle and realize how poorly they will do in the next election if they go along with the totalitarian Governor.

Quote:
Virginia Gov. Ralph Northamís sweeping gun, magazine, and suppressor ban was defeated in the state senateís Judiciary Committee Monday morning in front of a crowd of gun owners and Second Amendment supporters. Four Democrats joined every Republican on the committee in rejecting HB961, which had narrowly advanced out of the House of Delegates just before a legislative deadline last week.

Committee chairman John Edwards joined fellow Democrats Chap Petersen, Creigh Deeds, Scott Surovell, and every Republican on the committee to send the bill to the Virginia Crime Commission for further study, which kills the billís chances for this legislative session.

While the gun, magazine, and suppressor bill is dead for this legislative session, it will almost surely be back again next year, and in the meantime Gov. Northam will likely get a chance to sign several gun control bills, including measures that would roll back the stateís firearm preemption law, change training requirements for concealed carry licensees, and more.

Still, Virginia gun owners can rightfully be pleased and proud that their activism and engagement helped to defeat HB961, which was the centerpiece of Gov. Northamís anti-gun agenda. Even as the bill was watered down to attract the support of House Democrats, four Democrats in the state Senate (the three mentioned above as well as Sen. Lywood Lewis) continued to voice their concern or reservations about the legislation.

Well they tried, so they will get points from the anti-gun left anyway.

It's a no lose for Governor Blackface he can detract from his racism while railing against evil Republicans. If God forgive another nut job goes on a shooting spree it will be blamed on the failure of this legislation.

Then again some civilian with one of those evil "assault" weapons, the ones that hold up to 50 clips, will blast the psycho to smithereens and save hundreds of people.

May those anti-gun weenies disappear forever into oblivion.

50 round clip? Don't think I have seen those. Need a 100 round drum for home protection.

As for armed citizens taking out the maniac shooter like the guy in Texas, Biden criticized that as too dangerous.

Biden is purported to have said that we don't need "assault" guns that can hold 50 clips, not 50 round clips.

Overwhelming firepower is the best defense.

The people did decide and their elected officials listened. If the NRA was as powerful as anti-2nd amendment trash like to claim they are then Commiefornia, NewYork and a handful of other anti-2nd amendment states would have never enacted their anti-2nd amendment laws. If the NRA was powerful as anti-2nd amendment trash claimed they are then we wouldn't need a license in any state to buy and carry a gun. If the NRA was as powerful as anti-2nd amendment trash claimed they are then the Clinton gun ban would have never happened. IF the NRA was as powerful as anti-2nd amendment trash claimed then we could buy a sound suppressor just as easily you can buy ammunition and cigarettes.

Btw there is nothing common sense about banning semiautomatic firearms IE assault weapons.
