The house democrats thought they had enough evidence to impeach. Why is more "evidence" needed by the senate if the house democrats thought they had such a strong case to impeach the president in the first place? So it appears that the call for more witnesses is a ploy to unnecessarily stretch out the impeachment trial. Plus there is not enough democrats and sell out republicans to remove the president. So the trial is a waste anyways even with the absurd accusations against Trump.

The democrats are like the boy who cried wolf. They cried wolf with the Trump/Russian collusion hoax. They Cried wolf with the bogus rape allegations. They cried wolf when they accused a billionaire of using a couple hundred thousand dollars of campaign finances to keep a mistress silent about an affair(paying a mistress to be quiet is something every rich man who cheats on his spouse does). Now they are crying wolf with this accusation of quid pro quo/ bribery.

Democrats brayed they had conclusively proven their case yet needed more witnesses and documents to "complete the record". Trump is supposed to be such an imminent threat to the Republic his removal cannot wait until November's election yet they want to extend his time in office gathering extra evidence.

Democrats claimed the Mueller report showed sufficient evidence of obstruction to warrant indicting Trump. A mock grand jury of a thousand prosecutors agreed. The only thing that stood in the way was the OLC injunction against indicting a sitting President. Curiously, Congressional Democrats aren't pushing to get Trump out of office quickly with their iron clad case so justice can be served.

What's the matter? Can't count? Unlike previous impeachment inquiries the President had no ability to call witnesses or cross examine the ones called and Republicans had to have their witnesses approved by Commissar Schiff. No surprise, only Democrat approved witnesses were allowed after they passed their audition in the underground chamber of secrets.

Nonetheless, the House heard from multiple witnesses but significantly the Democrats declined to pursue Trump administration officials after the President asserted his legal right to refuse subpoenas.

Volker, Morrison, Hale and Turley were Republican-selected witnesses in the House impeachment proceedings.
