Default Black Trump voters are mentally ill, Alabama pastor says

If you're black and vote for Trump....

Black Trump voters are mentally ill, Alabama pastor says

[quote]The pastor of a Birmingham, Alabama, church posted a sign out front saying black people who vote for President Donald Trump are mentally ill, and white people who vote for him are racist, according to WVTM-TV.

Pastor Michael Jordan of New Era Baptist Church defended the sign, which read, "A black vote for Trump is mental illness" on one side and "A white vote for Trump is pure racism" on the other.

"God motivates me to take a stand for what's right," Jordan told WVTM. "Read the Bible. And look in the White House. If they're calling me a racist, look in the White House. When you vote for Donald Trump, you are supporting institutionalized racism."

Jordan already has a reputation as a racially divisive minister. In 2018, Jordan posted a sign that read, "Black folks need to stay out of white churches" on one side and "White folks refused to be our neighbors" on the other. The signs were a response to a megachurch opening a satellite campus in Birmingham to help reduce crime.

Really, Pastor?...That's how you preach?...Instead of defending your own actions, you redirect to the ire of your hate?...

Its the same old lib-tard nonsense of falsely accusing republicans of being racist and accusing any black person who votes republican of being a uncle tom, Oreo or some other derogatory racial slur.I bet these are the same people who criticized Trump for calling Jews sellouts for voting democrat .

Considering the influence that a position as such carries, why would they be any different then an elected official saying the same? A Celebrity, saying the same?

They are taking their beliefs, and painting people with them.

But according to some, God loves everyone. Except..... and therein lies the shame....

Jeremiah Wright was the same type pastor, and he mentored a future President.

If their words were true then anyone who says it should get credit or blame... the titles or role they have should be secondary.

"Their Beliefs" is the key phase here i think.
the sad thing is some pastors are lead more by their political, social, and cultural beliefs rather than their christian beliefs.
And compared to the other types of people you mentioned, pastor's role by default should be defined by truth... moral and biblical. And them speaking truth to high and low.
Sadly every generation has pastors that side with a current popular political or social opinion on every issue. From communism to slavery to abortion to homosexual "rights" to "manifest destiny" to conservative to liberal etc etc ...
It, to often, becomes the lens though which they view the bible and faith, rather than the other way around.

And of course God loves everyone. Even though he makes it clear that we all need to act better. (and ultimately believe in God's provision for our forgiveness)
Making that message plain in an objective way is part of what pastors are called to do.
That's enough to get plenty of people upset by itself.

So, do you believe the pastor was speaking the truth? Problem is some people look up to their pastor just like some people assign credibility to psychologists and psychiatrists "diagnosing" the President as mentally ill, both are whoring out their professions for political purposes. Labeling political opponents as mentally ill is a classic means of repression favored by the Soviet Union.

no. not at all.
But i was dealing with the larger question.
IF "their words are true then"...
pastors in general have a right, and sometimes an obligation to speak.

that is a problem, pastors and psychologists, psychiatrists, scientist, politicians and celebrities are all just people. What they say should be listened to, but also weigh against evidence.... as well as the scripture.
