While conservative activist Scott Presler’s recent efforts organizing an effort to clean up 12 tons of trash in 12 hours in Baltimore would seem like something everyone can celebrate, left-leaning newspaper The Baltimore Sun wasn’t too happy about it.

Following the recent efforts of Presler and around 200 volunteers, The Baltimore Sun released an op-ed questioning Presler’s motives and the good the effort itself will do. A philanthropist is now offering $100,000 for continued efforts to help clean Baltimore up if the Baltimore Sun retracts the ridiculous oped.

“Whatever he says his motives were, Scott Presler’s presence in Baltimore reinforces the tired image that the poor people in this city can’t take care of their own neighborhoods,” the op-ed argued.

Where the Sun got this from is anyone’s guess. Presler’s actual public comments about the effort suggest he believes quite the opposite.

“Some people were believing that the people of Baltimore just don’t care or they want to live that way. And that’s just not true. They don’t want to live that way. I think they just needed somebody to show love and that’s what we did,” the outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump told the Epoch Times.

The Sun’s op-ed, which many denounced as little more than a hit piece, also suggested Presler will need to continue returning to the city to clean up trash to gain real “credibility” with them.

“We also hope Mr. Presler keeps his promise to return to Baltimore once a month. It would definitely give his motives more credibility,” it read.

The op-ed then predictably showed its true colors by getting political.

“It might also give him better perspective about the city’s problems than any single visit can provide. Maybe it could even lead him and his followers to advocate for federal housing, health care, transportation, education, criminal justice, civil rights and anti-poverty policies aimed at urban communities,” it read.

Leave it to a leftist in 2019 to take a non-political good deed and inject it divisive politics.

Bill Pulte, a philanthropist and the CEO of Pulte Capitol, had the perfect response on Twitter to the paper’s op-ed.

“My teammates and I will pledge $100,000 to Baltimore neighborhood clean up (I know a thing or two about that!) in Baltimore if the Baltimore Sun retracts this article that discourages people who want to help the City, when the amazing residents want them help!” he tweeted.

Digging into the Sun’s history just a little makes their recent op-ed look even more ridiculous because they have actually written positively about people’s efforts to clean up trash in Baltimore before:

When we asked readers what they've always wanted to know about Baltimore, we got an overwhelming number of questions about litter. So, we dug into the city's trash problem. http://bit.ly/2XslFXC

You asked: Why is there so much litter in Baltimore? We dug into the city’s trash problem.
As the next installment in a series inspired by readers’ questions, The Sun took a look at the city’s mounting litter problem and the forces behind it.

So you get good media coverage for helping out Baltimore and its trash problem if you’re not a Trump supporter? God it.

And it’s just fine for the Sun to point out the fact that Baltimore needs a serious cleanup, but if the president does it, he’s racially motivated? Makes perfect sense.

Enough of this nonsense. Everything is not political. What Presler and others did deserves praise, no matter how each of them votes. It seems like we have reached a point where some leftists have such poisoned minds that they are incapable of looking at anything without their Trump Derangement Syndrome showing its ugly head.

Presler, meanwhile, has said he is already planning another cleanup effort in Baltimore. He will also soon be taking his efforts to other cities, as well.

@ScottPresler
We're already planning a second Baltimore cleanup.

I'm also working with organizers on trash cleanups in Los Angeles, CA, Newark, NJ, and Norfolk, VA.#AmericansHelpingAmericans

This is a CLASSIC example of Leftist Media hypocrisy. WOW
