Trump looking into pardoning military members accused or convicted of war crimes: report

Quote:
President Trump is signaling he may pardon several military servicemen either accused of committing war crimes or convicted for them...

One of the men Trump is reportedly seeking to pardon is Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher, who was charged last year for a number of war crimes, including stabbing and murdering a wounded person and shooting at unarmed Iraqi civilians.
A few months after he was charged, Trump was met with criticism after he said in March that Gallagher would soon be moved to "less restrictive confinement” in “honor of his past service” to the nation.

The officials said they believe the president is also allegedly considering a pardon for Nicholas Slatten, a former Blackwater security guard who was convicted last year for his role in a 2007 shooting of unarmed Iraqi civilians.
...White House issued the paperwork requests to begin the pardoning process on Friday...
...Trump is planning to pardon the men on Memorial Day.
Every time I try to believe he's done his worst, he does something more despicable.
Plus the mutherfvcker is ruining Memorial Day in a lot of ways.
Geeze, I'm sure that most of the free world wonders what in the hell kind of morons would want to keep this guy in office.

First, Gallagher is still on trial...We have two posts that have already convited him...

Second, the prosecution may not be on the up and up...

Navy SEAL War Crimes Trial in Turmoil Over Claims Prosecutors Spied on Defense

Quote:
The court-martial of a highly decorated Navy SEAL platoon leader on war crimes charges has been thrown into turmoil by, of all things, a harmless-looking image of a bald eagle perched on the scales of justice.

The bit of digital artwork, embedded in an email message, contained hidden software that could track if anyone read or forwarded the email, and may have also been able to allow access to all communications and files on the recipients’ computers, defense lawyers argue in court filings.

The email was sent last week to defense lawyers representing Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher by the lead Navy prosecutor in the murder case against the chief, apparently with the judge’s approval. The tracking software was also included in emails sent to lawyers for the chief’s commanding officer — Lt. Jacob Portier, who is charged in a related case — and to a journalist for Navy Times covering both cases.

Furious at what they see as an improper attempt to spy on them, the defense lawyers are demanding an investigation, and the suspension of proceedings against both men while it is conducted. Chief Gallagher’s trial is currently scheduled to begin May 28.

Remember when calling the president a "narcissist" , a few years ago, was tantamount to treason?...

The same people aghast anyone would ever say that about a president now DEMAND you call the president a "narcissist"...

Such terrible language. Why can't people follow the example of our president and ...

...oh right.

Sorry, but the complaints over decorum from Trump supporters really don't mean much. You don't get to complain about people calling the president names when he does so on a near-daily basis.

Armchair combat veterans need to get their asses into a combat zone, so they can see how well they follow any rules of engagement, especially when dealing with ass holes who would shoot a hole through their mothers to kill you, and you have a leash stuck up your ass at the same time.

Looking at the liberals' points, I see no comparison that would be fair. They are already at the apex.

Well, you know what conservatives say about the liberals' safe spaces for language.
