As for the middle class, it has never seen a better time. For the first time in decades, wages are rising and opportunities for better employment abound. Out of work welders and carpenters can stop delivering pizza's and Jimmy Johns, and get high paid steady employment.

This more so in the red states than the blue. Who's fault is that?
Don't forget the best wage growth in a decade focused on the middle and lower end of wage earners.

But don't recognize Trump's accomplishment with tax reform, instead demogogue the reform because the people who pay the lions share of taxes got relief.

Works for me.

After all, I am not in favor of any tax increases--including a gas-tax increase...

Ahead of a meeting with Trump on Tuesday on a potential infrastructure deal, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Schumer wrote a letter to Trump, saying that an infrastructure deal must be “comprehensive and include clean energy and resiliency priorities.”

Schumer and Pelosi said that the deal must “go beyond transportation and into broadband, water, energy, schools, housing and other initiatives. We must also invest in resiliency and risk mitigation of our current infrastructure to deal with climate change.”

Having said that, it doesn't matter if Chucky supports or not. He's the minority leader. Nancy has the better argument, but she too doesn't have the votes to override the Senate or the president's veto.
As Speaker Pelosi has the power to keep any spending bill from being taken up by the House and the lemming Democrats will vote as she commands any infrastructure bill will have to be acceptable to her.

Given their previous antics refusing to negotiate on funding for the border wall it is not surprising the Democrats have poisoned the well for negotiations on the infrastructure bill with a nonnegotiable demand designed to shield Democrats from a difficult vote and preserve a partisan talking point. Democrats have no interest in problem solving only Resistance.

I'm not sure but that those two possibilities are not mutually exclusive.

I don't know about anyone else but I netted $200.00 a month from Trump's tax cuts.
Don't worry, the Democrats aren't going to take that $200 away from you and are, instead, more likely to double it to $400.

The Democrats are referring to the 81% of the money from the tax cuts that went to the super-wealthy and corporations that didn't need any tax cuts and that actually rake in trillions of dollars in profits because of the infrastructure.

As consumers the infrastructure provides us with goods and services but we don't profit from it.

Corporations and wealthy investors actually profit from the existence of our infrastructure.

Based upon the corruption, brutality, inhumanity, immorality, dishonesty, and incompetence of the Trump administration the White House is the dirtiest house in America and there's no known cleanser that with remove the stains of the Trump Administration.

The "super-wealthy and corporations" pay most of the taxes in this country; so it is understandable that they would realize the most relief, in total dollars, from the tax cut.

Now, percentages are quite another matter...

I don't think many would state that we don't need adequate infrastructure.

A few of us, however, are curious as to why we need more money given that we paid nearly a trillion dollars for the same thing 10 years ago and have seen no results.

The Constitution establishes that all spending authorizations originate in the House so Pelosi has far more power in controlling spending than Senate Republicans. Republicans should be thankful that Pelosi will be in charge of the final House spending authorization because she'll moderate many of the more radical spending agendas of the freshman Democrats.

It was excellent to bring up the prior border security legislation that received bipartisan support. It did address the necessities to improve some of the existing physical barriers and to even add new barriers in certain locations the Border Patrol requested. This measures were funded because they enhanced border security.

Republicans, Democrats and the majority of the American People know that "Trump's Wall" does not provide improved border security. Trump's wall is about projecting an image of intolerance of "brown people" that reside South of the US border and that's not an image that the American people support or are willing to pay for.

We also know that women and children that have been forced to enter the US unlawfully to apply for asylum because the Trump administration refused to allow them to apply as refugees at a US port of entry don't represent a threat to the national security of the United States.

Not really. The House originates the budget, but it takes three signatures on any spending bill.

Nobody is forced to enter the US illegally for any reason. In addition, nobody is forced to apply for asylum at the border. There are numerous other methods. Including applying in another country. The current administration AFAIK has not refused anyone the privilege to apply anywhere including a post of entry. That you don't like the rules is not a refusal.
